Never played an escape game before but still felt the reverse mechanics. It was interesting trying to reverse my thinking and hide clues. Although I will admit in the second level I did click aimlessly at points, when I did find the correct place to hide the item, I felt an a-ha moment, which is a great thing to have in a puzzle game. The perspective of the rooms kind of messed me up a little bit and I felt it was hard for me to get a grasp of where I was in the environment of the room as silly as that may be. Regardless, I respect the boldness of creating such an art-heavy game for this jam in the first place!

Good job and good luck with the jam results!

Developer

Thank you for playing our game and thank you for the feedback. We feel you on the "aimless" clicking, it was hard to try to implement proper instructions with the time frame. Our artists definitely pulled us through with the art. ^^"

Submitted(+1)

That's ok! You guys did a great job considering the time frame!

Really cool game, i've always loved point and click games when i was younger, though im not really that good at them, but i managed to beat the game. though i didnt really make any sense of the actions taken, but it was fun to player. Nice work, and impressive you managed to make all that art in the two days given.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! Timeline was tight for our artists, but they pulled through really well. ^^

Awesome idea and implementation, very fun!

Thank you! ^^

Cool style!

Thank you! ^^

Neat game!  It was fun for me, since I've played a ton of escape room games in the past ;]

Developer

Thank you! It's refreshing to once setting up the room, hehe. :)

This is a really creative concept!! This would be really cool with some more complex levels.

I have one question about something in level 2: What was the purpose of the note that says "LUV"? It didn't seem to fit into any puzzle in the room

Developer(+1)

We definitely wanted to add more complex levels, but needed to adjust our scope with the time frame. ^^

The note had a purpose, but again we ran into issue with the game jam time and being able to implemented it. Possibly in the more polished version, it will have a proper meaning in a puzzle. ^^

I was game master, I know ahaha. GAME MASTER THE GAME

i love escape rooms, the animations were really good, gameplay was fun, 10/10!

Developer

Thank you so much playing our game. ^^

Submitted(+1)

Finished both levels! (Well level 1 was easy so not sure if it counts haha)

I like both the animation and art it's a unique style for the game!

The puzzle is a little easy but I assume if you make level 3 and more levels it'll get harder so hope you can the concept is great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing the game! Level 1 was definitely made more as a tutorial, than a proper level. ^^ Within the scope of 48 hours, we didn't have time to make more complex levels, but it was definitely on the table in case we had more time focus on creating proper escape room reversed setting. ^^

I found the topic nice and didn't find any bugs. I also appreciate the effort of making an intro and making a tutorial (level 1).

It would be nice if you build a web version and if you make solving the room a bit more tricky (gameplay can be broken if you keep cliking random things in the room)

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! ^^ We were looking into making a web version, but sadly couldn't manage to put it out in time in a proper state.

Nice idea, fun game! My main complaint would be that you return to the main menu instead of the level selection screen after finishing a level, and that the third level was a voting plug ;)

Developer

Thank you for playing the game and giving feedback. ^^

Very cute idea with amazing art and sound effects.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it! ^^

The idea is great, and I love the presentation, but I don't think the gameplay differs from any other point and click game in any way. A fine game overall.

Thank you for playing the game and giving feedback! :)

Love average Joe, truly one of the characters of all time. Nice throwback to point and click adventures too.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! And yes, we love Joe too. Maybe one day he can show it to the boss man. :D

Submitted(+1)

Heh, that was cute! Second level was a nice little challenge. Would have been awesome if you could actually watch Avg Joe solve the room, but I totally get there was not nearly enough time for that.

Developer(+1)

We definitely did discuss about having a character that moves around, but with the time limit it definitely not in our scope at all. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I must say that second level was much harder then the first one. But I like the concept, classic escape adventure from a another perspective. Good job here.

Great game, I love the concept.  Nice hook on the third level ;)

It is really all? Just one key? Sligtly dissapointing, but cool idea, we had the same. Nice art, I like it.

Developer(+3)

Did you play the second level? ^^ There are two working levels. Thank you for playing our game!

Submitted(+1)

Hey, I went with a kind-of-similar-but-still-very-different idea, inspired by a time I worked at an escape room, so it's cool to see another entry in the "emerging" challenge-reset genre.  Good job!

I ended up solving it mostly by brute force, but I'm guessing we're supposed to reason around stuff like camouflaging the color, or choosing appropriately sized items that match the compartment size. Were there other hints I was missing, or are we supposed to just use our intuition like that?

Developer

Hi! Thanks for playing our game and thank you!

Our game is pretty straight forward reverse of  resetting an Escape Room, so if you're ever solved one, I guess this how you put the clues back together. I think if we had time to make more complex levels, a proper tutorial level with proper hints on how to approach things would be added. Otherwise you're just following your intuition. ^^

Great game! 10/10 creativity
