Pretty fun concept, I felt it was a bit too easy to lose momentum, I like the swapping to the killer and chasing the player that’s pretty fun!

Visuals are great, game looks super pretty!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I think we need to tweak the momentum, happy to hear you liked the game overall!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Really interesting idea, and fun game!

I hope that y'all end up releasing a post-jam version with more levels!

Developer(+1)

Cheers! We're currently starting work on a new build which should include a few different levels, as well as more refined gameplay.

Verrry cool my dudes, looks stunning with 80s neon vibe. Amazing !

Developer

Cheers, glad you enjoyed!

Solid and well-polished! I think the main thing I would appreciate would be some quick but tricky way to recover my speed if I crash

Developer

Thanks for the feedback - we're currently planning to give the player better acceleration from standstill, which should reduce the punishment for mistakes a little and allow the player to get the ball rolling again sooner. Hopefully this will make for a smoother gameplay experience overall.

Props to your team and especially your artist! This game oozes style and is very impressive for two days of work. You guys should be very proud of this one!

Developer(+1)

Really means a lot to hear this, we're both very proud of what we managed to get done. We're now planning to expand and refine the game post-jam and comments like this are a great encouragement!

The concept is cool and i really like the artstyle! Great game!

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to play!

Wow, that is some hardcore 80's style, Presentation wise your game is one of the best i've seen. As a game it's a very well implemented version of the endless runner with a nice twist. The leader board was a nice touch too

Developer

Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot!

Really cool concept and execution = despite the janky movement.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We intend to release a new build once the jam is over with refined movement, thanks for the feedback.

Super cool game, amazing visuals!

The gameplay is addictive, with a very nice progression curve!

One small nitpick, if you just squander 1-2 seconds at the start of your first run, the second is always super short, which kinda defeats the purpose?

Developer

Thanks for playing! The strategy you mention is definitely something we'd like to look into punishing more somehow, but at least for now it prevents you from achieving the top top times on the leaderboard. Thanks again for the feedback!

Well executed, Cool and fun game! Great job in 2 days! Check ours too!

Developer

Thanks! We'll be sure to check it out!

Pretty fun, managed to get 3rd place on the leaderboard haha. There's a nice bit of depth to going fast with different mechanics, like the way acceleration works with jumping, and landing in slopes. The idea of going fast and then chasing your ghost is creative, but in this implementation it mostly amounts to "do your run twice." If you're trying to go as fast as possible the whole time, then you essentially lose as soon as you make any mistake on the chasing run. There's some potential for strategizing like intentionally slowing down in a specific spot in order to give yourself an opportunity to catch the ghost, but that will no longer work if you're trying to go for the best time possible. I found that the most effective way to win is to just start off slow, which allows you to almost immediately catch the ghost if you finish with a decent amount of speed. Anyway all that is to say, some more opportunities to gain some ground in the chasing phase would benefit the game. Maybe when running away vs chasing there could be slightly altered mechanics that require more intricate strategizing between the two. Aesthetics and presentation are pretty cool, though the simplistic shapes of the terrain make it look more like untiled geometry than an intentionally silhouetted aesthetic. One other thing, I found the weird high jump that you get if you press space too quickly upon landing to be pretty frustrating when trying to time jumps carefully. Anyway was still pretty fun to go for fast times, nice job.

Developer(+1)

Wow! Some great feedback, thanks for that. We’ve been looking at a lot of the points you mentioned and agree the second phase does need just a *little* something extra to make it so that the player has a bit of an edge and doesn’t feel like they need to set two world records in a row to keep their time. Jumping and controls is definitely something we need to look at, both could be smoother and there are a couple of bugs we need to get rid of. Glad you enjoyed our game, thanks for the feedback!

Sweet vibe. Love the spooky idea of running from and chasing yourself. This is like that ghost car in racing games but cooler.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Happy to hear you liked the twist!

Submitted(+1)

Love this graphic style. The twist is reminiscent of our game ;)

Developer

Thanks, we’ll have to check yours out!

Submitted(+2)

I really liked the idea, a pity that the jam theme makes you expect the plot and gameplay twist of having to chase yourself because I think it is very well handled in this game <3. my congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Haha thanks, we’ve had varying responses, some people predicted it and others took a few goes to get it. Overall though people seem to really like the twist!

Submitted(+1)

I like it, good job!

Submitted(+1)

really creative concept for the theme, love it! the platforming didn't feel all that great (sliding really slow was tedious and it was kind of awkward how the jump would suddenly drop you down midway through, it should probably be a little floatier), but other than that, this is a really solid game. the leaderboard is a nice addition too

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the constructive criticism. We’ve been working hard on a post-jam build that should hopefully address a lot of these issues! Happy you liked it!

Submitted(+1)

What a cool game with interesting foreshadowing. Was not expecting that to happen and I thought the platforming was really cool and responsive. Love the art as well great job!

Developer

Thanks for the compliment on the art! Especially from a team with such great art yourselves!

Submitted(+1)

Yooo that was some really cool foreshadowing. I really liked the cyberpunk art style and the futuristic music. Amazing job with this game, it felt smooth with the controls and pretty polished.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for checking us out! Glad you liked it

Submitted(+1)

This was a really interesting concept! I think some more movement playtesting could really help a lot, the slide didn't feel great because I always got stuck under platforms (but maybe I'm just bad). The jump was also really hard to control, decreasing the fall time would help a lot. Other then that, I really like the idea. This could totally be made into a super good game with some minor tweaks!

Developer

We hope to work on the game further and improve on this stuff post-jam for sure!
