Great idea! Would be nice to have some explanation on the description of the game.
I did my best to protect my citizens, by eating Werewolfes XD
What an awesome plot twist! Great idea and execution of the game!
Great game! I love the concept of this one,but its pretty hard. Still just awesome!
That was an unexpected turn, where a mayor is (spoiler)... a werewolf! At first, I didn't understand why I would buy people, but now I know! Cool game with, a very clever use of a theme. The only suggestion I have is to move a bit faster and sometimes as a werewolf, I didn't know where to go. But overall awesome game!
Thanks for the feedback, and for taking the time to play! The people are also supposed to be the "economy" piece, but that could definitely be communicated better in-game. :]
I liked your game last year and saw you again. I think you used the same font lmao. Game feels a bit slow though. Hard to get into.
Hey welcome back around! Yeah, I wish we had a little more time for polishing gamefeel, but we had some game-breaking bugs towards the end that had to get squashed instead. Thanks for taking the time to play, though!
It's nice as a little strategy game and even if everything is not balanced it's fun! The Arts are cute and I like the idea of playing 2 opposite roles. GG!
Thanks for taking the time to play and leave a comment, it means a ton to us!
The concept is very interesting, changing roles here really makes the planning more challenging. I just feel that some sound effects are missing, they would be a nice addition, mainly to give some feedback for some actions like attacking. With more time for development, this game concept can go far!
Yeah, we were looking for a balance between how you build your defenses and how much you leave "open" for yourself. Thanks for taking the time to play!
what da hell this feels like a fully fledged game
ofc there are some flaws but like this is a game jam afterall
the main things are that i didnt notice that i should press the button on the left for solid 2 mins lol
and when i became the enemy i didnt know what direction to go, an arrow on the edge of the screen to point to the village is all it needs tho
damn some of the ideas in this jam are really cool, and this is one of them. if only its just executed in a more immersive way, like.. 3d and with maybe abit of a story, it can be so cool
Wow! Thank you for the comment! We really appreciate it!! And yes if only we had more time!! We actually had the arrow implemented right at the very end but were unable to get it uploaded... Glad you enjoyed it!
oh aw i see
what are the walls for? archers otp
The walls are there to use as a tool to slow down the werewolves, in order for the archer towers to have time to shoot them before they feast on the villagers!
I played twice, first time only placing walls and night 1 seemed to last forever (over 2-3 minutes) so I eventually just let the werewolves kill me. Second time playing I placed a couple archer towers and the night ended after only about a minute. Then I proceeded to die to my towers on night 2
.I think the controls are totally fine, and I didn't mind the slow movement speed. A static sprite for showing the character at rest would've been nice instead of always walking but that's a minor concern.
Thematically, I think it might make more sense for the villagers to fight back rather than the archer towers which I think were a little wonky as far as understanding their range and damage values.
I like the idea of the mayor being the werewolf, but I think being human on the first night might be a little too confusing for the average player who is only going to try the game once or twice before moving on.
Our game struggled with difficulty curve too, so I do not mean any of this as very negative, overall this is a cute and playable fun jam game - good work!
Thanks for playing! And definitely sympathize with the critique, we found the difficulty hard to balance without it being easy to cheese by round 3, and occasionally the werewolf pathing would get them stuck behind walls... Thanks again!
I liked the idea, but there are a few things that hold me back. Not knowing what the controls were was confusing. I seem to have little control over whether a lot of people die the first day, since you don't have enough to defend from everywhere. And the movement speed is too slow to get anywhere. This all made it difficult to get past day one without dying of starvation or something else.
Ah, it's always bittersweet to hear critiques that you had written down on your to-do list, but that's the nature of these jams, I suppose. Thanks for taking the time to play, and thank you for your feedback!
