I love the concept! The game is a bit hard to read sometimes because of the very blocky art style, but it's still a lot of fun!
The upgrades really feel like progress is being made, and I love the fact that one of them is just "Your bullet fires mini-bullets"!
They really make a difference on the battlefield... I mean, they would, if only the blue guy would shoot so I could see them in action, but that's too much to ask isn't it?! You're dying sir, SHOOT!!! D:
Great job! =D
I like the concept, and the realisation. I'm not fond of the aesthetic, but it's readable.
That was fun, great game.
Fun concept and gameplay but it can be hard to keep track of things.
I really dig the aesthetic. The blocky colourful pixels and animations and funky music works really well. Dying felt a bit random/unfair but it was fun in the meantime. I think (ironically?) a tiny bit of auto aiming would have helped e.g. make turning more accurate the closer your trajectory is to hitting an enemy. Just subtle.
Really good stuff. I like that you added upgrades to the bullet, my only suggestion would be to add some kind of indicator to show were the enemies are coming from off screen. I ended up flying about for a while looking for enemies not realising my guy was being murdered by 4 dudes.
Yes... I will add some indicators of enemies after the jam. Currently the best playstyle is to not get much distant from the character. Thanks for the feedback!
Great idea for a game! At the beggining of the jam I was also thinking about making a similar game, and I gotta say this one is very nicely realized. The upgrades are fun and the general gameplay loop is very much engaging. My main issue is that it was often hard to tell where enemies are. I would get shot out, and I kind of had to circle the shooter and wait for the enemy to show up. Maybe some sort of arrow indicator could be nice for that in the future. Other than that though, good and nice to play entry. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback! Adding some way to know where enemies are was in my plans, but I ran out of time...
There should be some goal or the game getting more and more difficult over time. Because I got to 11 minutes (yes, I couldn't stop playing) and the game was basically still the same. I liked a lot the shield enemy and even if I think that the explosion was neat mechanic, I think shield should block it.
Also, I love how many upgrades there were, but by my taste it would be better if the bullet was faster (and slower to rotate) in the start. But I don't know, maybe all that I am saying was in the game, but playtesting showed that it isn't a good idea.
But overall, really good game, I have fun playing it and I couldn't stop.
Congrats reaching 11 minutes, most lose around 3!
Thank you for the feedback! I'm going to look into what you pointed out.
Amazing Game idea
implementation is also well managed nice idea of upgrades
controls can be better but overall nice game
Thanks for the feedback!
This game is awesome! Love the gameplay, the controls, and the fact that you get one upgrade every shoot (it gives a lot of sense of progression)! Nothing to complain about, great work!!!
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
Lovely submission.
Simple, fun, challenging and a nice take on the theme. Well done :)
Thank you for the kind words! :)
This certainly has replay value, well done! I must have played 5 or 6 rounds and didn't make it much past 2 minutes xD. It was fun but a bit frustrating in parts!
haha, try some different builds! People get really far with reload + autodestruction + speed. Thanks for playing!
Great game! We had a similar idea but couldn't figure out how to implement it and ended up going in a different direction. I love the variety of upgrades. They feel really impactful. Great balance. Overall excellent work given the time limit. If you continue developing it, you might consider adding a minimap. I found myself getting lost occasionally. Excellent work overall!
Thanks! I'm really happy to know that the game feels balanced. Also, adding a minimap is indeed a great idea. Thank you for the feedback!
I've survived 12minutes and I think I've the world record so you should send me a gift because I'm your biggest player !!
Some players got around 30 minuteswoah impressive! really good! I will send you a prize soon™!lol thanks for playing :D
I looked at a cool idea, many guys make a high score table, I think it would look great in your game. The game is really cool !
Yeah, a score table would be cool (I will probably add if I continue the development), but I preferred to use 100% of my time to balance and add features. Thanks for the feedback!
I survived for 3:53! The game was very polished and easy to understand. Good job!
Thanks for playing :D
Good attention to detail. I liked the added feature of selecting new power ups, added a lot to the feel of the game. Good music and sound design. Also nice menu transitions, shows a lot of effort throughout the game. Nice!
Thanks for playing and giving the positive feedback :D
The concept is very interesting and fun. I never expected to play a game as a projectile and the upgrades are really great! The artstyle and sound are very fun too, congratulations on the game!
Thank you! I'm glad you had fun :)
Great style, but bad controls. Good job!
The intentional use of poor controls is by design because you have the better-control upgrade (although some may get used to the default controls, so this upgrade becomes nearly useless XD). Also, try many shorter button presses rather than longer ones, its way easier to control this way.
Anyways, thanks for giving the game a try!
love the upgrade system! controls felt a little weird at first, but once I realized I had to tap the A and D buttons lightly to tweak the tragectory of the bullet, it was smooth sailing. feels like an .io game i'd play in middle school lol
Glad you liked it! Now that you've said that, this could really be an .io game, just imagine the chaos with multiple players lol
Incredibly fun and addicting! The upgrades make this so interesting and i really enjoyed it :)
Thanks for playing!
