Cute bright and jammin. A solid entry. Kinda like a monkey ball game in a way.
I think the level tilt should be much more responsive to give more control. It feels quite sluggish.
Some more polish and this could be good. Fix up the cloud flickering, getting stuck on level transitions, tighten controls, etc
Why would anyone want to live here. Why are they still building.
Cute and simple, nice presentation. I imagine making so many destruction effects was a lot for this.
And it's neat that the building get built out but it doesn't really add much but was probably a decent chunk of time to code.
I think if I were to make this I would half the number of destruction types and start with a large already made static map to destroy all of. There's not really any strategy here so theres not much use having so many different things with different cost. Something like this should ideally just be fun and satisfying to destroy stuff so all the focus should be on that and making it feel good to see stuff blow up. Maybe adding more player control would be better too than just spawning things at a position. Control the UFO, storms and stuff.
Anyway, Good job 👍
Decent implementation of the idea. But none of these reverse vampire survivors games have really been interesting to me. It's essentially all just clicking a bunch. There's barely any strategy involved and nothing to do really. You just click and switch units. Rinse and repeat until win. I mean it isn't surprising considering taking the opposite of a good idea almost inherently removes the good part.
I think a lot of people got too excited that this theme allows them to make a mixup of their favorite games but got lost in the sauce and didn't think the idea through to see if it'd be fun.
I don't mean to hate, the game is well made and is good for what you set out to do. It's mostly just the core idea of so many games this year being flawed. And it can be difficult to get any real critical feedback with everyone wanting to leave positive comments so you'll play and review their game nicely.
Impressive art for the jam but I'm not even sure if I'd call this a game.
No in-game tutorial or anything means I have no idea what's going on and you can't really figure it out easily. So it kind of just seems like a slow paced click on stuff simulator. Not sure if there's much strategy to it if at all. Definitely need to spend more time thinking early on whether or not the idea will be fun, and focus on that fun above all else before letting the art team flex.
Also, a web build should be a high priority as most people arent going to wanna download when there's so many other things to play.
Don't mean to be a hater, what's here is impressive no doubt. But I feel this year especially so many people forgot to make their games fun.
Looks quite nice. Could be more satisfying to play though.
It's pretty standard affair with shooting simple projectiles at a target. It's pretty unclear which thing you're actually controlling at any given moment. And the enemy AI is really OP and will just aimbot you constantly so it's more a battle of attrition and there's nothing to do outside of move and shoot.
Decently made but not that interesting or creative.
An interesting effort of scale. Mech battles are kinda cool. But gameplay seemed to be like just going up to stuff and holding a button. And then getting blown up 💥
Wasn't really motivated to give it another go from there. Especially since the menu bugged out.
But all this is probably why you usually pilot the mechs in mech games.
It's a cool project, even if the gameplay leaves something to be desired.
Incredible title screen. Decent tutorial level. All around fairly polished. But the game itself isn't particularly enjoyable for me. There isn't much variety in things you can do to build the level and what there is, is slow to get everything in place and then it's largely a physics crapshoot if you win or not. And if you lose, you have to slowly replace everything and hope it works out this time.
Not sure if godot has web build support but having to download is an annoying hurdle, I'm sure this would've popped off more if you could play in browser.
But, it's still a well made game worth giving a go, for the title screen if nothing else.
Not everyone is as critical as the farmer. You just need to find a plant that will love you for who you are.
Glad you liked it though! There aren't any random events (besides the rain) but the physics can get a bit unstable sometimes, particularly if you placed a bunch of leaves so that they collide and push around. Wasn't really sure how to fix that and had to just let it be with the limited time. But sometimes it's a nice shake up, keeps you on your toes. But oh well. 😅
