"Come children, be my meat shields while I endeavor to sleep with every male on this huge bullet-riddled battlefield!"
Cool concept, great song!
It was fun. At some point I had 15 children :p
The music is absolutely cursed and I love it. Great work!
Interesting concept!
Awesome concept! I love the snake-esque movement, i feel it really adds to it! it it kind of unexplanitive, but that def adds to the cursed-ness lol
This is a crazy concept. The baby making felt jank at first since I didn't realize you couldn't make babies while moving, but after reading your reply on how it worked it become pretty slick and easy. Music fits perfectly, gameplay is fun. Stepping on kids was a bit broken, if another thing covered the baby tile stepping on it did nothing, but aside from that it seemed bug free.
Thanks! I wanted to keep the mother's stepping system to stay true to original Snake mechanics, but adding cowboys' ability to step on babies would destroy the current reproduction system. Both mechanics definitely need to be reworked, though.
Music is amazing haha. It turns out I'm not a very good western-era mother haha. I couldn't figure out the rules behind which cowboys I could make babies with. I think the highest score I got was 33. Took a lot of bullets for my babies! Good fun!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! A baby will spawn if you stand on the same tile as any cowboy.
Are all the male characters cowboys? It seemed like only some of them made babies - maybe I couldn't tell which ones were cowboys?
Yes, all of them are cowboys. You can't make babies on the move though, you need to pause on the tile where the cowboy is.
I can't stop laughing after hearing that music hahaha
Great idea, thematic, responsive and replayable with the score at the end.
Maybe it's just me but I felt like the grid based movement contrasted to the smooth movement of the bullets. My brain makes me think the bullets and the men would be turn based because of it (everything moves one place every time you move) but honestly that would be quite a strain tactically... so I think this way is more fun. Just ignore me then - I got used to it after a few tries!
Thanks for the nice words! Your idea of the game being turn based is pretty interesting, although it would make it a completely different experience...
Best game I have played from the jam so far. Amazing take on the theme. Music is perfect too.
Awesome, twisted, disturbing snake - I loved it! The music will haunt my dreams :)
Cursed.
The remix is incredible.
I liked the music. My main issue with the gameplay is that it felt like the best strategy was to just stay away from the main danger by just sitting in a corner, but then I didn't really understand the child spawning mechanic. Overall, incredibly cursed.
Thank you! My idea was to make a risk-reward system - you risk to go the middle of the map to have children which significantly increases your score. The problem is I didn't have time to make a decent tutorial...
definitley a funny game, quite replayable. the song remix caught me off guard at first.
I absolutely love it! Everything is great if I had to point one bad thing only thing I can think (and it's not even bad, it's just not perfect) is that at first I didn't understand how often you can have new children.
11/10 game!
I really liked this idea, even if it is slightly cursed haha!
Haha thanks!
