I love the mechanics you implemented they made the gameplay feel more purposeful, having the light detection was a good call that made this a bit more interesting then your average platformer game, the bananas are absolutely terrifying I feel like they should scream at me when they chase me haha!

I got a bit frustrated and had to stop playing after unlocking double jump because the next checkpoint was pretty far away after a bunch of challenging sections.

Overall a fun silly banana game :]

Thank you for playing it! Glad you enjoyed it!

The spotlight mechanic is really interesting. It'd been great if the bananas were a bit slower in response. They were always insta death XD. Great work!

Developer

Haha I appreciate it!

I like monkeys and the evil bananas are quite creative. Felt that the spotlights were hard to jump around making it hard to progress. cool platformer!  :)

Thank you!

Pretty cool idea + nice metroidvania mechanics. I think the game feel needs a little bit of work tho, I found some parts a little bit frustrating due to it

Developer

Thank you! I agree, the game still needs a lot of polish and I hope to fix that in an update once the game jam is over!

Awesome Game! Didn't expect a submission to have such a compelling storyline but I'm all here for it. I also didn't expect all the bananas to come rushing towards me whenever I touch the light even barely and it probably scared me more than it should have. Overall a very fun horror platformer that could use some polish but besides that a very positive experience. Well Made, Good Job!

Developer

Thank you! I plan to release an update for the game after the jam is over to give it more polish and fix some glitches!

Intro is a little long, but its a fun game! Got jump scared by a banana lol

Developer(+1)

Yeah in hindsight I should have made it shorter! Thanks for playing!

My main issue with this game is the platforming gameplay. The jump is too floaty, and the horizonal inputs don't feel very smooth. It could also use more auditory feedback, and definitely more juice. Lastly, the parts where the spotlights show up on top of you are frustrating.

Aside from that, decent level design, funny concept.

Oh also I'm a sucker for metroidvanias

Developer

Yeah, I'm still learning how to make movement as best as possible, but I'm glad you still enjoyed it! Thanks for playing!

Them nanas weren't ready for the jump boots

Developer

They weren't ready for all that monkey business either.

The fact that this is a metroidvania was a pleasant surprise :D
