This is really good! I love ocean games, and this one did not disappoint. The art direction and sounds worked well to enhance the game flow, and the voice acting throughout really made it feel like a fully fleshed-out and complete game. I really like the boss at the bottom too, gave similar vibes to the Leviathan from Subnautica :). Really great work!

We're glad the game came out with as much functionality as it did. The 96 hours were really useful for all the extra polish. We were hoping to add more but time constraints limited us unfortunately. Maybe we'll expand on it post jam. Thank you for playing the game!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment :)

Love it! Wish the scanning was a bit faster but the stun grenades are so so fun!

Developer

Haha 😅 if we had more time to make balancing changes we probably would've included an upgrade to shorten scan time. We're happy to hear you enjoyed the game though!

Wow this was really enjoyable. The music made it really calming to go through the water and seeing the giant red circle indicators really made me curious about what I was going to see (I felt the anticipation!). Really great job!

Developer

A lot of thought went into building suspense and a sense of tension in the game, especially with the music and sonar. We're very happy that those efforts had an effect!

Amazing style and art. Love the sound design as well.

Developer

Thank you so much! I could say the same thing for Frogmaggedon!

I started and thought "Oh what a cute little exploration game wish little fishies" then I got deeper and went "Oh right I'm terrified of the deep ocean." Love the game, love the art, love the navigator woman and her cool hair, the music is genuinely excellent. Fun game

Developer

Every time I looked up reference photos of the deep ocean my brain told me to be very very afraid. Thank you so much for playing!

Developer

I love the deep ocean (from a computer screen, I would not be willing to go down in a submarine) and funky looking creatures, so this was really fun to make. Thanks so much for playing, and super glad you enjoyed it!

I was not expecting THAT. Rad as hell!

Developer(+1)

The deep ocean can certainly get scary real fast eh? Thank you for playing!

Developer(+1)

I love twisting expectations (in a good way hopefully)

Thanks so much for playing!

Gorgeous art! The overall aesthetic and vibe were so cozy, getting lost in scanning for sea critters became so peaceful. Also loved how polished everything is, great job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! We (mostly me) were so fixated over visual style and polish that we weren't able to implement some gameplay related things lol. Super happy you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words. Fingers crossed right? I love the concept of your game too after getting used to the controls!

Beautiful, cozy, really like the character designs. I love underwater exploration games.

It seemed to bug out for me at one point, preventing me from scanning, not sure if that because I kept getting banged up.

Certainly nothing terrifying at the bottom of this ocean.

Developer

As the creator of Katherine,  I’m really glad you liked her design :D Fun fact: I originally wanted her hair to look like a jellyfish, with the orange part being the tendrils! Thank you for the awesome review!

Developer

Oh yeah the scanner breaking was intentional, when you get attacked parts of your vessel will damage and possibly break. Definitely could've communicated that a bit better, glad you still enjoyed the game!

It's a very peaceful ocean, just as long as you don't disturb the residents :)

Love to see another submarine theme game! Beautiful art style and very chill. Love your work!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much, I'm really happy to hear that! I personally really love the ocean and seeing/learning about marine life; glad everything came together for the most part. Thank you for playing!

Same here! Ocean games like Endless Ocean or Dave The Diver are some of my favorite settings of all time.

Seeing your game up made us excited too! It was nice seeing some people have similar ideas!! It's always fun seeing variations and different design choices (especially the setting in this case)

Thanks for the message! Yes, I was aiming for an underwater game as well, but decided to change directions at the end haha.

really cozy and good game, art is beautiful , sound design and voices are great, had a really great time playing it and the encounter with the giant bobbit worm as kind of a boss fight was a nice touch, good work!
