art style of this game is so cool and this game have a cat.

Developer(+1)

Our team has a weird obsession with cats lol, thanks so much for playing and glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

Your team did a great job! It is very well polished. Even if it wasn't my usual type of games, i enjoyed exploring this beautifull sea.

Developer(+1)

I'm really happy to hear that, we focused extra hard on polish this year! Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words.

What a beautiful game! Got some Subnautica vibes from scanning fishes :D

Art, music, characters are so good. And very polished!

Would love to communicate more with these characters :)

Developer(+1)

Funnily enough I don't think anyone in our team has actually played Subnautica, but most of us saw a few clips of it and that inspired various ideas. Thanks so much for the compliments, both artists had a lot of fun designing these characters!

Developer

I played subnautica so it inspired a lot of the sound design and  compositional choices for the soundtrack 😎  Thanks for liking the game and my music!!!

Phenomenal art, absolute wizardry that you did this in 4 days. Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad we worked together well enough to pull this off, thanks so much for playing and happy you enjoyed it!

I LOVED THE ART STYLE. I enjoyed it so much while playing.  I was also very surprised by the dubbing haha i joined and left the shop at least 3 times to hear it more. U did a really good job, i loved the game, i couldnt even imagine how much work u did on the code and graphics and MUSIC AND VOICES DAMNNN. The idea was so interesting!

Developer(+1)

Originally we never even mentioned let alone plan for voice acting - in the middle of development I just brought up "What if we gave her a few voice snippets" and luckily Emiliano knew someone with a professional microphone!

Super happy to hear you liked the game, thanks so much for playing and the kind words!

Submitted(+1)

Absolutely love the art

Developer

Thank you for playing, both artists will be happy to hear that!

Submitted(+1)

Amazing game! Loved the art style. 10/10

Developer

I'm glad it all came together, thank you for playing and happy you enjoyed!

Submitted(+1)

Probably the most well presented and put together game I've seen in this jam, really incredible and you can tell what a well put together team this is to make something so polished in such a short time!

Developer

Thanks so much! This was the first jam for both artists and the other programmer, I'm so happy we worked well as a team and could create something like this in four days. Thank you for playing and the kind words!

Imagine how Dave the Diver would look if it was only made in a weekend. When I first saw this page after submission was closed I knew this would go places, but oh boy it's blowing up! Excellent atmosphere, art style and music, smooth controls, and a satisfying core loop. The upgrades are meaningful and there is a good variety of sea life. Well done, team!

Developer

Oh wow, thank you so much! We got together in person for the first day and I was extremely nervous about the game's scope and timing, but it seems for the most part it all worked out - I'm extremely proud of my team. Thank you for all the kind words, and super happy you had a good time playing!

Really pretty artstyle! A bit too slow game pace. Nice and educational theme

I would be appreciate if you check my game in return :3

Developer

Thank you so much! Game pace was a bit tricky especially since we wanted to balance similar submarine mobility with being able to traverse to all parts of the map.

I'll get to rating and reviewing games later today, thanks for playing and rating ours!

This is already a full little game, it's very impressive! I loved the art style and exploration, the fact that you don't kill fishs is definitly a plus. Really really cool

Developer

Oh yeah, we initially thought of more direct ways of defending yourself especially when we planned for creature AI to be more complex - so glad we reigned that back in favor of just calmly observing fish! Thank you so much for playing, and I'm happy that you enjoyed it!

Submitted

I love this game! I love the art, it's nice indeed, and result overall.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! ^^ Glad you had fun

AMAZING GAME, A SOLID 10/10 from me. I don't know how you did all this in 4 days. THE ART IS INCREDIBLE, the MUSIC IS ALSO AWESOME, and the gameplay is also SUPER POLISHED. Honestly I think you have a shot at winning the jam. HOW DID YOU EVEN HAVE VOICE LINES ??

Submitted

It would be really helpful if you could check out my project and give me tips or feedback on how I can make an awesome game like yours. (it's my first game jam).  https://teckhybrid.itch.io/happybara. What's your secret ?

Developer(+1)

I'd be happy to do a review of your game in the morning when I get a chance to play it! I'll comment under your games submission.

Developer(+1)

As a dev on this game - Given the time constraints, it's important to have knowledge and experience of your engine's tools (i.e. physics, UI, input) beforehand so you don't have to learn during the jam. Having some general purpose code snippets on hand are also useful. Also, remember leave some time to playtest before submission.

Developer(+1)

So real!!

Developer (1 edit)

The playtesting period was probably the most useful 2 hours of the entire development session. We were very lucky to have people free at such an odd hour to help us find issues in our game.

Developer(+1)

AWWWW your comment seriously made me smile so much!! Means a lot that you’re enjoying the game :)

Submitted

Really nice art. I have no idea how you managed to make so much art in such a short amount of time

Developer (2 edits)

The secret? Having two artists working around the clock and a manager who can streamline as many processes as possible for them with sketches and reference images. Factory lines are efficient and so too will our art production (the artists may or may not revolt after the 96 hours are over). Thank you for playing!

Wow

The art is incredible! Reminds me of Dave the Diver, one of my favorite games. The style and music is so charming and the deep sea was super immersive with the sfx and music. Really great job!

Developer

I was wondering when someone would mention Dave the Diver. That game was a huge influence on how we wanted the game to look and feel in the initial stages of development! Thank you for playing!

Submitted

Oh wow that was exciting! The deep sea monsters were scaaary! Very well made and fun to play. The only feedback I have is that there is not a big visual difference between what you can and can't take a hit from. So you just avoid anything you see just in case it's gonna crash into you, but then I noticed some things don't take damage. So yeah! Maybe some kind of outline or something on the things you can interact with. Very cozy game, I will play more later <3

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game and I hope you keep enjoying it when you return to it!

Developer(+1)

Aww, this is such a nice comment! Thank you so much, I really appreciate the feedback and I’m glad you found the little critters scary hehe

Submitted

Love the art it is so polished. More than scanning itself I found it interesting to see how deep I can go and what stuff I would discover there.

Developer

I'm genuinely super happy people seem to enjoy the exploration and mystery aspect of the game, thanks so much for playing!

Submitted

The art and world are very pretty, gives me ponyo vibes

Lots of polish! :)

Developer

Now that you mention it I have to agree with you on that. Thank you so much for the compliments!!

Developer

As a fellow Ghibli enjoyer and artist,  this is the best compliment you could’ve ever given… Thank you so much :’)

Submitted

Feels like 2D subnautica but cozy.

Developer

Thank you! That was one of the inspirations and intentions we had, although I should mention that none of us in the team have played much of Subnautica directly.

Submitted(+1)

loved this game's style, the art and music are amazing and  the core loop is pretty good

one small thing though, in some voice clips you can hear a mouse click at the end

Developer

We're happy to hear you enjoyed the game! We must've missed some of the mouse clicks for ending recording in the lines you heard 😅we'll try to be more careful next time!
