Very cute side-scrolling puzzle game. I loved how the incorporation of this year's theme was integrated into the gameplay but as 'SETTINGS'. I found this to be a very clever approach. Overall, the mechanics and theme for this game is what it makes it stand out the most.

Such a cool game! I really liked that you could also drag the cubes, this is a mechanic that should be implemented in more puzzle games imho. Moreover, I found the "changing brightness" mechanic very creative. I would've loved to see the "change resolution" mechanic being used as well, but given the time constraints of a game jam, I know how hard it is to design all sorts of puzzles and levels. Great job!

This was such a creative concept and the intro animation was excellent! Reminds me of that one Dexter's Laboratory episode where he gets stuck in his video game system as well, haha. I think the platforming controls need a bit more tuning, though - the platforms felt really sticky, and that combined with the momentum required to push blocks made it really hard to be precise. I also kept forgetting to dismiss the contrast adjustment menu, which was a bit annoying. The laser level seemed to require a level of precision in positioning beyond that I was capable of inputting, unfortunately, so I didn't manage to play until the end, but overall I really enjoyed how creative and stylish this game was!

FWIW, everyone else has noted the spacebar reset issue already, but based on what I observed, it seemed to be that if you ever clicked the reset button, that bound spacebar to the button (since I assume space and click are associated together). This binding would go away between levels until you clicked the reset button again.

Pretty ambitious ideas for this game, along with some interesting animations integrated. Nice work all of you.

I had some difficulties figuring out some of the puzzles but thought it was a nice callback to retro games.  I like the concept, however I do feel like there are some minor changes I'd have liked, similar to others outlined by other people in the comments such as having 2 separate buttons to switch between modes and maybe binding the reset to a button other than space as that can get a bit confusing. Great work though!

Good concept with a visual style that's simple but works. Gameplay is a bit iffy - movement feels sticky for some reason, and either my game is bugging and booting back to the main menu on a level earlier than it should or none of the levels use the aspect ratio mechanic at all.

As a jam submission, it's not bad at all. With some work to make the gameplay smoother, it could also make a decent small-scale release outside the jam.

Nice entry

I love the idea, story elements are always appreciated, music is cool, design is pretty, I think having switch being “E to switch right and Q to switch left” will be more comfy since you don’t need to stop. I think its a bit far from the theme

Overall, nice game. Good job

Lovely entry.

I love the implementation of the theme. I also had that restart bug when I jump at the start, but in the second level it went away. Looks good and challenging. Only suggesting I'd add is maybe binding the left/right switch of E to specific buttons, so it would allow you to switch mid-actions, and not stop your action to switch the state - that can unlock many more options for the player (and also many more challenges!)

Well done :)

Thanks for checking out our game! We would love to try and add more puzzles and features in a future build, so we appreciate the feedback! :)

This brought me back to being a kid playing on the Sega Genesis. Really great vibes, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, we worked extremely hard to get the vibes of the game just right so this was really heartwarming to hear!

For some reason the level restarted every time I jumped. I loved the intro, story element of the game is nice. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Unfortunately we didn't notice the bug until after uploading, jumping with W avoids the bug, but we appreciate the feedback and definitely will try to fix it after the jam!

Loved the opening intro and style!

Developer

Thank you! Our artists worked incredibly hard so we're so happy you liked it! :)

An interesting concept with a fun style. Some puzzle solutions were quite difficult to perform (mainly the lasers), and I experienced the same bug some others have mentioned involving Spacebar triggering the reset button. However, it was fun to figure out the solutions, and the art style and music created a very cool retro game feel.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, we'll definitely fix these bugs in the future! Thanks for playing our game! :)

Awesome intro!!! We loved the art style, color palette, music, and sound effects. Overall, a fantastic entry with a really nice take on the theme!

Developer

Thanks for playing, we really appreciate it! :)

I think it was more about the color than the size, but the important thing is that it was fun.

Super adorable art and concept. Only made it through a few levels until I ran into the reset/jump issue, but the progression balanced and well designed. Not sure if it was intentional but I noticed I was able to grab a box and move it the opposite direction, just not consistently.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yes, you are able to pull boxes but we definitely would love to make the character's movements more consistent in the future. Thanks again for the feedback and checking our game out! :)

i hite restart and then everytime i jumped it restarted

I really like it! but I found an issue when I got stuck in one of the levels I pressed restart and everytime I jumped the restart button also was pressed, making me unable to complete the game. This happened twice

Developer

Thank you for checking out our game! It was definitely an unfortunate bug we found after uploading that seems to stop if you use W to jump instead of Space. Hopefully we can fix that later, thank you for the feedback!

Super lovely and charmful. The levels were thought out really well

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! :)

The animations were really great! But I felt like the character was a bit too floaty, and having to press "e" before being able to toggle the color made it a little more annoying than it had to be. Switching whenever using the scroll wheel would have been nice!

Developer

Thank you so much for the feedback! We originally had thought about switching to the scroll wheel but time unfortunately caught up to us. Hopefully we can make it a lot more convenient for the next version. :)
