I've never played games like this before, but after trying this one, I want to explore the genre further. It seems like it could be really interesting. Great job!

If you like startegy'ish games,be carefull to the addiction, Deckbuilders are so cool
(The first one to put in on Video Game is Slay the Spyre, It was a realy bnig inspiration for my entry).
At the very basis, it comes from a Board game called Dominion (if you like Board games, it has a loooot of extentions and is realy fun too at 2/3/4)
(if it is not the first one with the concept it is the one that spread it to the world )
Cool gameplay with a good deckbuilding and cards stacking mechanic where the goal is to actually scale down the size of your deck by scaling up the strength of your cards.
A little too easy once you understood which mechanics to use, but actually balancing a game needs much more time than a jam so it's perfectly understandable

the gameplay mechanic is very unique, and i LOVED IT!
I could really see this made into a mobile game, it's simple, entertaining and always different somehow!
Love how some monsters want you to combine many cards for lots of rounds until you use it in the end destroying everyrthing lol, loved it, looking forward for a full game, really

I had this idea of tryinng to make a deckbuilder with this 2 pilars I miss in the onne I"ve played :
Draft like in my young age when I buy bunch of boosters of Magic and make rounds of draft to build our decks (this part I will try to sharp it to find back that feeling)
"Hard" choice between building up your progression during the battle, and figthing to survive.
And the Scaling theme of GMTK made me start the test.
I may plan to make a premium game on Steam thoo (but I will try to keep the scope as tiny as possible, I'm not a full dev, just a hobbyist for now ^^")

Godot Can do soo much more (but we need to be creative sometimes ;) ), only has few hours before the end to add all the "polish" and the balance ^^

A really well thought out game - especially for the time. I'm a casual fan of deckbuilders, but I think you did an awesome job. Definitely some scope here if you ever wanted to go further.

Yes I Think its the plan, try to go sharper and the concept and test it out
as a 1000+ hours slay the spire player, i can say i like this game, it has a lot of potential! some small improvments could be made (for example not having to select yourself when you're using a shield card) but for the time you had, i can't say anything else than GG!
looks like thorns only gives retaliating damage to enemies but don't shield you right?

I'm planning to extend and sharp the concept to maybe try it on my first comercial game
(tested it here cause it matched somehow the theme ^^)
And yes the idea of Thorn is to cancel the shield but add damages in return !
GG on the lvl 11 thoo, I've made the "balancing" at the last time (if we cn call it balance lol, on my few runs of tests, I only managed to go to lvl 9 lol)
the strategy i found was taking some damage at the beginning so i can make powerful vampire cards, and then getting all my health back while smashing ennemies. i tried some rounds with thorns but i'm not a big fan of it.
oh and also, i don't know if it's supposed to do this, but almost all of the times i had to chose between cards (before a new round) i had the choice between 3x the same card so la question elle est vite répondue
Haha yes Vampirism is the Meta right now ;)
And yeah didn"t had enougth time to fix the 3 same card issue (same I wanted to add Vamp / Thorn on choises too with lower stats in between battle but hell time is runing so fast ... )
I've spent like an hour playing it, it's amazing! The balance is really good, All the mechanics, the sounds, the art everything is great. Really good job!

In fact Ive made blaancing at the 1h our end of the Jam, so I think its a bit too chalanging for most of people (I've tested 2 times befor pushing, and didn't reach the end xD)

Yesss, I couldn't go past the fifth wave even in like 10 attempts, but it was this "good" type of challenging anyway. Tbh, I'd buy it if it was a full game

Super cool game! The concept works well and it’s easy to pickup. I can definitely see more polish and a bit of complexity added to turn it into something commercially viable :) Congrats for your entry

Missing my old time where playing Magic with friends, paying a bunch of booster and drafting, never find the feeeling in another deck game so I've tried to put my hand on it (still to improve to match the startegic part where you don't let some card s to others thoo)

I hear you ! I feel the same it was really a good time, im also thinking about making a card game, first idea for this jam was one but the idea didnt fit well with the time left so we take another idea ( maybe in another jam who knows )

was missing my Draft's with friends on MTG a lot, didn't manage to find it in other games,
so tried to reproduce it (but its hard on a solo game and in a game jam ^^)

As someone who plays a lot of MTG(arena), that was one of the first potential influences my mind went to.
A really fun little game!
I like the idea of the game and also the drafting your deck. It would be nice if the game keeps track of the cards you have already selected, so I do not have to remember. Also I realised I did not get enough attack cards so it took a while for me to defeat the enemies. Really neat and creative to be able to give the shield and hp to the enemy. Nice work!
Really like the gameplay in this one. Would love to see a system for removing/upgrading/buying cards, as well as being given thorns and vampiric cards as options in between rounds/when building your deck. All around a fun experience. Great job!
I definitely loved the animations of the player and the cards. I would have like to have at least some of the scaled stats remain after the rounds end, it felt like I could not "scale" quick enough around turn 5-6 when I played it to keep up with the enemies I was faced with. Also, the cards seemed to be mostly empty, maybe you could have had the stats as the actual card contents if you didn't have any images or other info in the center? It felt weirdly blank. But I still really liked this game! It's interesting and I played it multiple times.

I didn't had the time to find a way to balance the game well, the suppression of boost was the only way Ifound to maange the balancing (if you farm the merging on the first fight you have an isane card and beat the game easily !)
I will try to push the concept further it was fun, a bit repeatiting so I will try to rework the battle and find more stats / combinaisons
