HAHA the audio is top tier good. That was the most enjoyable thing about this game for me, particularly the speech you make after the player dies. I found the rotation difficult to get a handle on. Creative take on the theme though and one of the more unique games I've played in this jam.
really cool concept. like the atmosphere and narration. Punishingly difficult though lol
Yoooo this is really cool!
The game is unfairly hard but not that fun to play, but
But
The vibe is incredible. I absolutely adore the narrator's monologues, I like the way it's voice acted, I like the voice, I especially like the things he says. It creates a really enjoyable and unique identity for the game. I just wish I didn't fail so quickly so I could hear more of those great lines.
Also the skyboxes look really good, did you make them yourself?
Thank you kindly, it can be quite tricky, but I am glad you enjoyed what you did. As for the Skybox, no, that was a unity store asset I picked up some time ago on sale. I believe it's in a set that still goes by the name All Skies.
Alright. If you want to make skyboxes, I recommend making a 2:1 canvas in Krita and turning on the features that tiles the canvas endlessly. It helps making seamless textures. And you can get a sky-esque feel with just a vertical gradient and undefined potentially blurred brushstrokes. Also keep in mind that the closer you get to the middle of the height, the more that part will be stretched vertically in-game, so that's where you want to put the highest density of details. Finally, when you import the texture in unity, it has to be a cubemap.
Hope this can help, have a good day.
Thanks for the recommendation. I've heard Krita is a really solid art program, perhaps I should look into it if any future projects call for a custom skybox construction. Textures in general are a bit of a weak spot of mine, as I often settle for Vertex Painting the things I model and animate in Blender.
What I really want to find is a workflow that lets me do custom textures that also have light emissions for some of the colors and not others.
Not sure what to do when the world bounces into the third dimension but it's cool to hear voice acting in a jam game, with some funny dialogue to boot!
Yeah once it bounces too far forward or backwards it can become difficult if not impossible to catch.
I simply couldn't understand how to balance it, seemed interesting though
That's understandable, it can be quite tricky. Thank you for trying.
I couldn't get it balanced at all, although I like the concept, very getting over it like others said
Thank you for giving it a go, it is certainly not easy holding up a world.
Unique idea and solid implementation! I love the narration.
Took me some time to adjust the balancing, but hey that's more narration for me so I don't complain. Nicely done overall :)
Love me some good political commentary - should go further in that direction, really funny stuff! The comedy aspect definitely carries the game, but the aesthetic is unique and solid too. I really think there should be more commentary games like Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy. Just a little too hard to stay balanced maybe.
Very interesting stuff, good job!
Nice idea for the prompt that connects to a larger conversation, took a bit to get a hang of the balance but made it through to the end! Well done.
Great voice!
Thanks!
Man your voice is so sexy
Thank you kindly.
