This was super satisfying to play. Great sprite and background art, with super smooth movement. The scaling feature is really fun to play around with and fits into the game without feeling forced. Great work with the short tutorial, especially with the time given in this jam. I was super impressed overall and hope you continue working on this game past the game, great job!
Nice artwork! It was unclear to me when and how I can get larger. Nice work though!
i lvoed the lil snake and art, the spring jump was very funny. great job!
Fun game! I was confused on why I couldn't change size or use "e" at times, I suggest you show the connection between the actions you do and the scales you use.
Also, the background in the cave was a bit overwhelming for me...
That said, great job on your submission :)
That is one cute snake - I love the way it winds up as a spring during the jump.
This game it really interresting, and the mechanic is great! I really like the mix of puzzle and platforming, as it makes for a great gameplay loop.
I enjoyed this! The visuals are well made, the sound is nice. I think the levels could maybe have been a little more interesting. Overall good job!
Very cool for your first game! I would have like to see the amount of scales needed at the nest because I failed the 2nd level after using one to grow and those jumps were hard! Great work, well done! :D
Thanks! I hadn't really thought about it since all levels happened to need 3 scales to complete, but now that you mention it it does seem obvious that I should have implemented it lol thanks for the feedback and for playing my game! :))
An idea I just had would be to have 2 different items for grow and score. I get the resource management but bringing scales to the nest to hatch is a bit weird. If you were to expand, what about a mouse pickup for the score and you start with a limited number of scales. That way you keep the resource management and a more natural feel from bringing food to the nest.
Thanks for the reply :)
This is very impressive, especially for your first time making a game
Congrats on your first game! I like the indicators for how big you need to be to open the gates, it makes sure I don't grow too much. A visual tutorial is always a very nice to have, so that's some more points as well. It's a bit bare bones, but it's a finished game, so great job!
Thanks! I was really unsure if to make the tutorial at all because wasd is really common for games, so I'm glad you found it a good addition! And I do agree on the bare bones part lol I was originally planning to make it at least 10 levels long, but then I didn´t have the time to include all the diferent elements I wanted to make, so I had to cut it at 3 sadly :/ But anyways, thanks for playing my game! I hope you liked it :))
