It's really good but I wish I had more lives before a game over and an alternative higher-contrast colour scheme might help. Generally speaking I like the retro style, I just wonder if it could be easier to know what's going on with a little more detail, like 2x the pixel resolution might still look retro enough. Overall very cool game jam game with a fun gameplay loop.

One of the more unique interpretations of the theme. I loved the presentation as well.
Cute and fun game! Setting several chances for miss before game over might give players more chances to practice.
Fun mini game! Love that cute pixel art. Tho the game is a little bit diffcult, my best score is like 9. Good job!
Really well polished, and cute, but, as you've mentioned, the difficulty does ramp up a bit too steeply.
Very cute art style and sound! Maybe this is just me, but I had a bit of trouble distinguishing the different arrows as fast as I would have liked when things got quicker. Maybe it would be useful for each type of arrow to have a more distinct style (colors? shapes? maybe just draw the arrow shape and not the square frame?), which could make the player be faster and play longer. Great game!
Absolutely amazing game, i love the style of the art and the pallet used, it really gives it a retro feel and the mechanics of the game are super well polished.
Also the sound design is probably some of the best in the jam I've seen so far!!
Love the art style! Very polished and cute. The gameplay is fun as well. It ramps up in difficulty pretty quickly, so I made it only up to 23. Congrats!
This was surprisingly addictive! I really wanted a high score! Nice work!
Nicely done!I think just a couple minor tweaks would make this play better:
- Add keyboard support for the main menu and/or a way to quick-restart the game, because the jump between keyboard <-> mouse feels a bit awkward
- Maybe as an optional feature, find a way to visually distinguish the arrow keys a bit more - with the very limited color palette and low resolution, it's really easy to misread the keys when they shift over. Maybe they could have separate background patterns, or shift over in a more animated way so your eyes can track them better?
Regardless, it was fun!
If there had been a game like this when I was a kid, I would have played it for hours.
I think this might be the first game I've played that's a fish based interpretation! I love the 1 bit game boy graphics and this feels like it would be at home on one of those little game&watch knock offs from the 90's early 2000's
