Its simple but fun. I honestly found it very morish I kept wanting to see what the next ship was going to be which made it hard to put down. Your core loop is very fun, I think with some more iterations this could be a really fun little game. Also I wish I had a Jam streak show off 😆
love this simple game so much, wish to see more content of this game to play
Awesome Game. Just hoped there was some audio. Other than that its a good game.
I became TITANIC and won!!!
First of all, stop being so hard on yourself - I think your game page is a perfect example of how not to talk about your game.
- don't tell people not to play - then they definitely won't
- don't say that your game is boring - they'll believe you
Your game looks great and I played it because of the visuals and the desire to see all the boats. I like the colors, the light, the texture of the water, the coins.
I like that the boats are different sizes and are controlled differently.
For a complete set of "congratulate me, I made a decent project that can get good grades" you are missing only 2 things, each of which can be implemented in half an hour maximum:
1) find any free generic pirate music and run it in the background, find any free ambient "sound of the sea and the cry of seagulls" and turn it on in parallel with the music
2) after the inscription "You won" appears on the screen, show the player the TIME in which he was able to collect all the ships - you can also add the inscription at the bottom "the developer does this in ... x seconds"
That's it)) you already had everything ready - never despair and good luck to you in the future
I love your ships
I got to the sailboat level. Then it just turned impossible. Nice water and lights.
I was laughing of frustration.
Keep at it! Add some XP bar to give some idea of progress and a “Give up” button that leads to a score board of endurance.
I liked the game. The visuals are very nice and calming. Cool idea with the frequent change of ship types and their controllability. Honestly, I would like to play an extended version.
I liked the boats, very sea worthy.
Although very simple, I did end up getting to the cruise ship and winning, so good game!
If you don't get seasick, that's a small victory :)
I know you wrote that it wasn't really finished but I thought the base was cool and it felt smooth, it would be great to see you build it out more and add a few things to make it more fun!
Yes?
Obviously you're not happy with how it turned out, but there is a pleasant feeling of cruising around on the open ocean with this game. The presentation is quite dinky, kinda reminded me of playing with toy boats as a kid.
The steering is odd, but it makes me think that there's some potential in having a wheel that you can start spinning in one direction, but that you have to physically slow down before you can turn in the opposite direction, evoking a captain desperately trying to right their ship. I think with a bit of wobbling, drifting, and a pair of manic hands steering a wheel at the bottom of the screen, this could be a neat little minigame!
Dev said don't bother playing it, well I just did, and I enjoyed it. :P
I liked the chill vibe of the game. Some music and a few obstacle would have been great!!!
For a game who's description begged me not to play it, I had a nice chill time. Sorry to hear you struggled with the theme.
LOL I love how you still made something though to keep your streak! Very cute and cozy boat game.
I actually had fun playing it!
With a bit more time and scaling on the difficulty (boat speed essentially), some feedbacks (when I do get the next upgrade), it could really work ! Well done :)
