How does your game fit the theme?
You have to build the building within a scale. Too big and it breaks, too small and the villager isn't satisfied.

It's an interesting game and an original concept. It has some charm, I really liked the introduction at the beginning, but unfortunately it's very chaotic. It's hard to figure out what's going on during the gameplay, I felt a little overwhelmed. But having a variety of characters to choose from is definitely a plus! It adds a bit more life to the game! Good job and good luck with future projects! ♥

Developer

Thank you for playing. Youre right, it is very chaotic and with time constraints I didn't have time to ease the players into it haha.

What a clever way of incorporating the theme! The game was a little overwhelming, but when I got to playing it, I appreciate how much thought went into this :> I love the portraits and the story you made!
One thing I would like to suggest is to minimize your color choice, art style, and font style to help the player focus on certain areas/objects better, and to make the text a little more readable.  Overall, I enjoyed it :DD Great job!!

Developer

Thank you for your compliment and your advice. I do programming mostly and did so between work so I used what art I had purchased from asset packs.  I will take your advice in the future if I update this game and try to make the art more uniform and perhaps change the font to something more readable. Thank you!

I liked the random characters you could select. It was a little too complicated but the concept is really cool!

Developer

Thanks for your kind words. And you're right there is a lot going on haha.

Once I learned what all the tiles did it was a lot of fun creating a path to the end.

I didn't believe it when my dad said that old man Grends who works in the mines used to be a hero!

(Great idea a little too much going on for me but thats a much better problem to have than not enough going on! Excited to see what you come up with next year!!)

Developer

I appreciate your comment and it's always fun to see someone join on on the lore!

There definitely is too much going on. I originally wanted to have a tutorial that eases you into it.

Fascinating story at the start. I found the gameplay confusing as I didn't know what all the symbols meant, but the animations and art were lovely.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback and you're right, there is definitely too much going on. I didn't have time to ad the tutorial unfortunately.

If you highlight the tiles with your mouse, it will tell you what they do.

This is an interesting game! I love the mechanics! The character portraits are really pretty. I wish they were bigger so that I could see them better though. Nice job on your game!

Developer

Thank you for your compliments. A lot of bugs I didn't have time to fix and no tutorial but I'm glad you could enjoy!

i liked the concept! if im being a bit real i was a liiittle confused due to how much was going on but it felt like a unique roguelike turn based thing (if thats what it was)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback. There definitely is too much going on, I didn't have enough time for a tutorial unfortunately.

Of note, you can highlight tiles with your mouse and it will tell you what they do.

I really like the idea, it's really creative! I can see that there were a lot of mechanics and planning involved
(But PLEASE stick to one artstyle tho 😭)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. I'm a programmer mostly with work in between so for art I went with what was available. In the future, if I continue on this I'll take your advice and look to using more uniform art! Thanks buddy!

I really liked this concept and style :)

i like the main idea of the game! though, i do think it was a bit difficult to know what was going on when i first started. there were also some bugs with duplicate players and losing health randomly. despite that, i think it's a nice take on the theme and it could be fleshed out more!

Developer

Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!  There was definitely too much going on to understand at first. Unfortunately I didn't have time for a tutorial level or to fix some of the game breaking bugs.

There seems to be an issue with Macs on a specific browser. Can I ask which browser you're using?

I like your game, it's creative with a neat story. As for feedback, maybe ease the player into the game. My eyes shot up when I started for the first time.

Developer

Haha, you're definitely right. There's way too much going on. Unfortunately with work, I didn't have time to make much in the way of a self guided tutorial to ease the player in.
