This is super interesting. Really neat level design. Learning how to roll the D4 was a pretty cool puzzle in and of itself. Great work.
Thank you! We are really glad to hear that you liked the game!
For what it's worth, the character in this build is a D3. A D4 would be a pyramid (or 4 sided "crystal"), and would definitely not rotate correctly for what we did here lol. But future builds will have a few different dice, including a D2, and a D4/D6 (there is some debate on which, or both lol)
What a super unique and interesting puzzle game! I really enjoyed the mechanics when switching between the different climates and trying to figure out what each of them does. Rolling the die was a bit hard at times, maybe a little jump or something would've helped, but I still had a lot of fun in trying to figure it out. Nicely done!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the game!
One of the things we're going to work on, is making controlling the player "feel" better overall. We had a jump in the very early testing, but it kinda went against what we wanted in level design, so I'm not sure if that'll come back, but possibly it could after some overall re-working.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Love the idea, the mechanic of switching weather it's cool, but the controls are hard, I get stuck on the last geyser. Also like the music changing depending on the weather!
Good Job!
As other have said, controls were a bit hard but I haven’t come across this concept anywhere else! Good job.
Thank you! Yeah, we are largely revamping stuff about how the game "feels" to play for future builds. We appreciate the feedback!
It's a really cool concept with good implementation but I can't beat level3/4 (unsure which one) managed to actually get past the double geysers and lava but I failed the final part (which I think is supposed to be the easy thing?) Still a really good game!
Haha, yeah, that level specifically had a last minute change because of the difficulty. The beginning was definitely the "most difficult" part, but the original ending version required the player to ride up a series of geysers, with the Die Shard being really high up in the air; this was changed because potentially failing that after already dealing with the first part was considered too frustrating. We're planning on continuing the game, and in the future the player is not going to need to do such difficult levels at such an early point in the game though!
Thank you for playing our game, and we appreciate the feedback!
I like this one although it's too hard for me. :-D Though I gotta say, the corner stone flipover is kinda tedious even if you know how it works...
My original plan going forward was just to introduce the Slopes more gradually, so that a player isn't forced to interact with them until the are more experienced with using them in-general; however, if it's too tedious for people, then I'll see if maybe I can add a special interaction, so that the slopes help with the flip. Thank you for the feedback! And I'm sorry that it was too difficult : )
Love the concept and presentation. I got stuck though on level 4(?) unsure how to flip over using the corner tile.
Yeah, that's definitely been most people's biggest struggle it seems. You can move quickly to the Slope, then bonk on it and immediately go in the opposite direction, which will cause the player to make a flip.
With the very small playtesting we got in before we needed to submit, we found that that could stump people, and the geysers/launch pads could be a bit much, which is why we chose to add the "skip level" button lol
I'm glad that you enjoyed playing the game overall though, and we appreciate the feedback!
Cool idea! Controls were a little slippery at times, but I still enjoyed it a lot
