Great job, Nice original way of introducing the dice theme and all the different seasons. Nicely done!

Thank you!

Really nice ! A bit hard to control, but the idea is really neat. Also a fan of Oracle of Seasons. \o/

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We are already working on improving the controls for a build after the jam ends. And yeah, Oracle of Seasons is one of my favorite games, and I'm still amazed that there aren't many games that use similar mechanics.

Submitted(+1)

Sweet game! Movement was just a little bit janky, especially with the jump arrows. The difficulty curve was little off, too, as some of the later levels I found much easier than some of the earlier ones. Overall, I really enjoyed this game! The art, mechanics, and music all contributed to a great experience.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for the feedback!
We definitely would have benefit from having more play-testers before submitting-- we actually made a last-minute change to make the Geyser level easier *and* add a Skip Level button, after having a couple of friends play it and getting completely stuck ;p;

Submitted(+1)

Really really cool idea that I would love to see polished a bit more!

Submitted(+1)

The idea is great and the levels are nice and clever. Nice use of the corner piece as well.

The controls are way too fast and slippery for my taste.

I encountered some bugs where the level would not change when I landed on the blue side. The tiles sometimes separate, leaving white horizontal lines everywhere for a frame or 2. Must be some setting in the engine that can fix it.

Nice game, I liked it :)

Developer(+1)

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! We actually were aware of both of those bugs, but during the jam, we weren't sure how to fix them. This was both of our first time making a game in Unity (or anywhere for that matter lol), so there was a lot of learning on-the-fly, without a lot of time to bug-hunt non-critical stuff. Since then though, we have learned how to fix the tile lines, and while we still don't know why "The Winter Bug" (as we call it) exists, we did figure out a work-around that appears to prevent it from happening!
We are also going to update the movement overall for future releases, and have currently already adjusted the Launch Pads so that they feel a lot better, and better fine-tuning the player's core movement is going to be a focus at some point.

We really appreciate all of the feedback and bug reports! Thank you a bunch!

A very creative idea! I really liked this take on the theme as a  platformer and the seasonal levels.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

Very cool! This game has a lot of potential!

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad that you enjoyed it!

A really creative entry, I love how many things change between seasons! The music for each one fits really well too, though the winter theme is easily my favourite. The character could control better, right now they're a bit too slippery for my taste. I also couldn't figure out how to roll myself on the happy little corner pieces, so I had to skip a few stages. Overall a super solid idea though, would love to see an expanded version! Good work :)

Developer(+1)

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it, and that my efforts in finding music that worked were not in vein! As far as our plans for the future of this game go, we do want to continue it to help us learn more, and two of our biggest priorities are making more complex and bettering feeling controls, as well as having levels that better teach mechanics so that people are not actually forced to use a mechanic that they haven't had a chance to learn about. (For what it's worth, you can flip yourself on the Slopes by bonking into them quickly, and then immediately going the opposite direction.) Thank you a lot for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

I was really surprised by the mechanics, the idea is quite simple but effective and fits the theme very well! This has potential to become a nice little puzzle game with some more polish both on the art and level side.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the Love! We definitely wanted to do something with the theme that wasn't focused on the randomness, since we figured that would be the main way that people incorporated the theme, and I'm glad that it seemed to work out! Hopefully we'll find the time to continue with the game, and release a future version that does have the polish that it's needing. I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and appreciate the feedback!

Fun concept, and good execution! Really nice game!

Good to see you here, btw!

Developer

Thank you! Despite being so involved in modding stuff, I haven't actually done much code-related stuff in years, so this was certainly a challenge, and a really fun way to get back into it. I'm also not surprised to see you here too considering how much work I've seen you do in a short period of time before lol

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game, and the concept is well developed! The presentation could be improved, but for a 48-hour jam game, not bad! Great game!

Submitted(+1)

This is fun! Visuals and music changing is a very nice touch. Surprisingly brutal at times, trying to land on the right side. Very enjoyable. :D

Developer

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! That means a lot coming from someone that made such a fun game themselves!

Submitted(+1)

Well made puzzle! Moreover, not many people think about creating several mechanics at once instead of a single one. You can feel the effort. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the appreciation! Once we got the idea going, we definitely almost made the scope too-big with mechanics, as we have a lot of ideas for what we wanted to do with the game. We finally settled on some core ideas that we thought would be interesting (and not too complicated to make in the time limit), but I'm hoping that we can add more to this game in the future!
I'm glad that you enjoyed our game!

This would be a great mechanic for a rage game.  You have full control of the die, but it's just slippery enough, and the punishment could be just severe enough.  The controls are frustrating, but in an interesting way.  And I mean that sincerely and in the nicest way possible.

Developer(+1)

We've definitely heard from a few people that some of the levels were a bit "much" for them: The "Geyser" level in particular actually got a last-minute edit and incentivized us to add the "skip level" option because we had some friends play the build, and everyone got pretty frustrated with it. I'm hoping that when we continue the game, we can clean up the controls a bit so that the challenging platforming sections can be "fun" frustration, as opposed to just rage-inducing lol.
Thank you for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Some of the controls are a bit frustrating, but it is a very unique concept and seeing the way the mechanics interacted was fun. I like how the music and art changes with the seasons.

Developer

I'm glad you liked how the changing happened! Neither of us are composers, and finding music that we could quickly switch between that both made sense and wasn't jarring turned out to be a big challenge lol. Out of curiosity, what about the controls was frustrating? Because we want to expand the game as a personal project, and I'm interested in addressing problems that people have with them.

Submitted(+1)

Very neat idea! Needs some tightening up of the controls and a better introduction to the mechanics, but I could see a lot of cool puzzles coming out of this. Well done.

Developer

Oh yeah, we definitely want to flesh out the levels to gradually introduce each mechanic, but we were running out of time while still needing to get some beginner levels made lol. And the controls probably needs completely re-done, as it was out first time ever implementing platform controls, so we went with a very simple implementation to accomplish what we wanted. Hopefully when we start working on it more, we can find a way to improve on those, but it's going to be a lot of studying lol. Thank you so much for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This is a fun concept!!! I came for the zelda reference, but you have a great puzzle mechanic here!

Developer

Oracle of Seasons is definitely one of my favorite LoZ titles to-date lol
I feel like there's a lot of potential with these kinds of mechanics, and I'm hoping that we can build more upon this game to make something to show off more ideas. I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Submitted(+1)

Really cool concept for a game, but some aspects are a bit hard to understand, especially the ramps, some tutorial levels would really help!

Developer

We definitely want to improve upon the learning-curve and introduction to mechanics in the game, and will if we choose to make a future build (which we probably will, because this has been an amazing learning experience and we're very happy with the game overall). Thank you for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This is awesome. It took me a while to figure out the trick to bumping into the slopes to roll. Very creative entry to this jam!

Developer

I'm glad that you enjoyed it! And yeah, the slopes mechanics definitely need introduced better in a future version-- thank you for the feedback!

Submitted(+2)

Really cool game! The physics are a tad wonky, and the ramps are a little unintuitive to understand at first, but the puzzles were very interesting and creative. I appreciate having a level skip feature!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the Ramps are something that ideally we would better introduce players too, and we kinda skipped more of the "introduction" level ideas that we were first planning. Thank you for the feedback on it, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it!
