Jam just ended! Here's the post-jam update:

-added pause menu

-added level select

-card balance changes

-tweaked ball graphics

-tweaked level design

-fixed luck balls that come from enemies not going into the correct place on screen

-completely changed math for how luck affects dice
-enemy projectile now collides with walls and destroys itself

-if you got less than 5 health last level and you die, you will be sent back a level. otherwise the level will restart

(as opposed to the game always sending you back. this change was made because originally i made the choice to send the player back so they can get more luck, however if they already got 5 health, there's no reason to do that since they did get luck last time)

(also the game won't send you back after you've already died once. so you can't go 2 levels back)

Great idea and execution. I absolutely love the luck meter!! I like how it's still abstract enough to perceive some randomness, and yet give the player some control over the outcome. Superb mechanic :)

Movement felt great but I would definitely add some kind of dodging/dashing control if it makes sense.

This had some juice, but I think with a little more visual feedback and effects it could be really juicy and even more enjoyable to play. Good luck!

Very complete and well realized game. I love how the casino theme hits on multiple levels. Game has a very good, juicy feel to it, and controls are snappy. It is hard while staying fair. Very good jam entry. Great job!

Nice game, i enjoyed it. (cant rate it AAAAAA)

The concept is solid, the levels are thought well and the luck mechanic is very interesting. The card system is also a very fun thing to do. Just a solid game!

I had fun a lot when learned how game works. You might need to put some tutorial I think. Its pretty different from all other jam games. Its fun to play and satisfiyng to beat. Well done mate ^^

Love the cutscenes and the presentation of your game, the music is catchy and the concept easy to grasp, also the use of an interactive tutorial is well implemented. Havent seen such a concept yet, good job!

I had a lot of fun with this, there are a lot of well implemented ideas.

The cards having different attack powers and some of them aiming at enemies is a really nice touch. Sadly, since the luck meter decreased pretty quickly, I ended up mostly spamming and not really caring about which cards I had.

The concept of collecting luck to have better dice rolls is something I surprisingly hadn't really seen before, but definitely fits the theme! It's a great way to give the player a little more control over the complete randomness of dice rolls.

All in all a great game with lots of interesting concepts! Great job!

The game is called stratedice for a reason. Awesome way to implement the theme! Cool music and cute character animation. You needed every bit of luck to be able to finish the game :D Good Job!
