A nice and fast paced game. The design with different cards doing different things added some nice depth to the game. I was puzzled by why I need to redo a previously completed level. Also, some acceleration and deceleration on movement would be nice.

I didn't reply to each comment as it came out and it would be weird if I started now and it would also be weird if I responded to all of them at once. So I'll just write here that I'm very thankful for all the positive feedback (:
Also, a fixed and slightly expanded version is currently being worked on and will probably be released as soon as I can modify the game files again (:

That's a really cool interpretation of the theme.

The risk/reward with the luck system is really clever & engaging.

My only issue was with the visibility range. Some ennemies start shooting at you (or charging at you very fast )  off screen which can lead to some death feeling unfair.

Appart from that it's a really solid entry with a good content & challenge. I had a good time playing it. Good job :)

Developer

Yeah, I got the visibility range complaint multiple times. Me being the guy who made the game I knew every enemy already was and so it kinda glossed over me that it might be too small. Thank you for the nice words though!

Wow, I thought you were kidding when you said it's similar to my game xD

That's amazing, man, the feedback is great, the music is super cool, and it's very enjoyable.

Great work!

I like that you only get sent back one level when you die. Not too punishing and not too forgiving.

The music was great! Especially like that the drums come in when you have enough luck to roll(I think at least maybe it was just a coincidence). Gameplay was fun, and forced you to make interesting decisions, with great risk/reward. I found myself not sorting through my deck, and just firing off whatever card was in my hand though. Maybe moving the deck ui down by the player so you can see it without moving your eye too far, and implementing enemies that block certain numbers or parry them can be cool. Great job!!!

Developer

The music changing when you have enough luck is intentional. Thanks for the feedback!

This game was awesome. I really liked the audio and the mechanics of the game too. Overall great game and would love to see more of it!!

Heyyy I really enjoyed this one! The sound effects are just great and make the game feel so much more ALIVE :D Really good job on this one!

The buttons have good sound effects lol, i spent too much time just hovering in and out, did you make them by flicking your tongue? Nice game, really. At first i thought the mechanic of being sent back to the last level instead of restarting it was bad, but it helps strategizing and gaining more luck. The game plays well together, everything from music to art gives of casino vibes. Good job

Developer

Yes, I did in fact make that sound with my tounge. Thanks for playing the game!

Everything about this game is done very well, great job!!

The gamefeel in this one is pretty good!

The gameplay is pretty interesting, most of these kind of games in this jam use the dicey theme to put random weapons, it's kinda refreshing that the health bar gets modified instead.

I love this game

Interesting concept, being able to finish the level earlier but at the risk of have a harder time next level.  I also like the animations for transitioning between levels.  It's not super easy to keep track of which cards do what and choose which to use in real time, but the availability of the cards seems to be well-balanced in my opinion. Overall, I had fun.

lovely animations and graphics , i had a blast playing this during my live stream, everyone should try it out , this is a really nice entry for the jam! congrats!

This is a really nice and polished game! Everything's nice, the graphics, the gameplay... I literally only have one complaint, it would've been nice if the camera looked ahead in the direction of the mouse because it's quite hard to see where the enemies are because of the low FOV.

Nice visuals and smooth gameplay. I enjoyed playing it!

Wow, not much to criticise about this game honestly! The jazz-inspired soundtrack is SUCH a groove, the luck metre mechanic is a great use of a classic risk-reward decision for the player, and overall the game is just wildly original. Great work!

Fun!

how randomized is the dice? i seem to get 1s everytime lol. I love the music and how easy the controls are:)

Developer(+1)

It is in fact indeed randomized (to an extent), but there's a one threshold you must pass. A little below the half point. Might've been a little too punishing.
