I am too tired to reply to every comment, so I will do it this way.
Thanks for every bit of feedback, we really do appreciate it :)
The game currently looks decent, but the gameplay is not in a great state. You can't feel the impact of the dice, as it is minimal, mechanics are not really explained and the enemies are basically dummies that happen to hit back. The current best strategy isn't the most engaging either.
Due to the strict time limit and life getting in the way, we weren't able to fix many of these issues, and the game has notable bugs.
I hope you still found some enjoyment in the game.
I believe we learned a lot of things while making this, which we plan to incorporate into our future projects.
The creatures you fight are really cute and the artstyle is so good it made me feel bad for hurting them!
Suggestion: you could add different types of dice that have varying modifiers so the player has more agency over what rolls will do.
The visuals and music is great, I could cheese it by continually defending then rolling a super dice, but apart from that it was quite an enjoy able game
Great concept!
What I liked?
- Good idea to link the attack damage with the dice number, it gave a sort of "gamble" feeling when doing an attack
- The visual style is really nice, beautiful!
Other comments:
- No SFX when doing an attack or receiving one, it would have been nice to have one for the immsersion
- The usage of the Heal and the Superdice was unclear for me, I just used Attack and Defend (to regenerate)
Overall nice job!
I enjoyed the art quite a bit, but there's so much more to explore here mechanically. Things to explore include new abilities, multiple dice, loaded dice (biasing certain values), or having low rolls be useful too.
As for playability, my main feedback is that the heal/superdice buttons should be "disabled" if you don't have enough juice to use them. And the defend button should be rebranded to imply it grants you juice. I had to learn about this by reading the instructions outside of the game :O
I'd be curious to see this concept extended to a larger scope with some of the richer mechanics.
Wonderful art and cool concept!
Very nice art and music :)
Defend, Defend, Defend, Super, Repeat. Like the art though
Nice Game Cool Art, Interesting take on the idea!
Nice art! to be honest, the game wasn't really challenging, but still, it was really fun because of the awesome graphics. Well done!
I like the concept of having to defend in order to increase the "power" meter, which allows the player to heal and do a big attack. Very well done.
Really cool game! Love the juice and polish. The only thing that seems off is the font, but hey the rest is cool :D Nice job.
The first time I tried to play I got a "you win" screen before playing any of the game.
But I like coffee, so I'll take it lol. 😅
The second time I got in to the game properly and it was nice. The spin animation, nice little bits of juice here and there. 👍
Love the artwork !
Really polished, though it was a bit too easy.
There also could have added some variety with the enemies, instead of being a damage sponge which dealt a random amount of damage.
However, there was a time constraint, and its really good for the time you had.
Though I will make some recommendations if you want to improve the game:
Nice job!
I really like the design of the arena, but I think it could have been more challenging. I found that I could just continuously attack and then occasionally defend and heal and then beat the enemies with no problem. Other than that I found the game and the concept quite enjoyable. Good Job!
It's a very pretty game, but it's a bit too easy IMO. Just defending when the rolled value was small ( like 1 - 3 ) to use SuperDice and attacking when it was high worked fine for me.
