Supper cool game , and nice idea !! I found myself playing this game for a good time , felt like a polished arcade game !! Good Stuff Overall !! :))
I really loved the art style and especially was impressed with the movement and animation of the character. it was so fluid in this pixelated form. A great dodging game with a twist.
I genuinely really liked this take of the theme. Simple, on first impression, but complex in reality. As I tried again (and again) I realised the level of skill that was possible and got properly hooked. I did, however, spend I swear over 5 minutes on one attempt that simply refused to roll a 6, which was brutal haha.
Fab entry, and I don't really have anything I'd want to add that other comments haven't already mentioned, except perhaps a more rewarding winning screen as I found it pretty hard to reach!
It could definitely be developed further too
Very neat idea, and the quirky aesthetic made my constant failure that much easier to swallow. Lots of mechanical depth came when I realized I could string together multiple strikes and roll the dice with a single kick, so I started trying to make every kick serve multiple purposes! I think extending the invincibility of kicking for just a few frames after the animation ends could help with a lot of frustration, as whiffing a kick that put me too close to an enemy often led to some annoying deaths. That's only a minor thing in such an awesome overall package!
I really liked this game! I also don't have any idea what I learned in Japanese? but I kept dying so I memorized it.
A few suggestions... I think moving "try again" to just space bar press... and starting the game with any key press would make my repeated dying less tedious.

thank you for the feedback. I did find out myself that it would probably be better to bind "start" and "restart" would be better, but unfortunately it was too late. I guess it is the nature of gamejams to realize that you messed up after the fact ). I am glad that you still enjoyed playing my game, thank you!
Btw, Japanese thing in the beginning... It just says "Roll or Die by J 28" in English, but I put it through Japanese text to speech, so it has very strong accent to it. I just thought it would add to somewhat odd vaporwav-ish aesthetic to the game.
Why does this game gives me so many sixes, man...
I liked the unique visual style, also kicking red guys were pretty satisfying.
I wish that there were some audio indicator for when dash is recharged, or maybe put the visual indicator above the character since it's kinda hard to focus on two areas.
Anyways you made a charming and addicting game, nice job :)
I don't like the voice at the start of this game. Beside that, really great !
i love the visuals! i definitely wish the player had more hp since i kept dying almost immediately after rolling.
