An enjoyable idea for a quick break from playing a lot of similar games. Very creative and relaxing. Was a bit confused with "Mouse0" and "Mouse1" (the Unity terms) to describe what humans count as Mouse1 and Mouse2 :) Good job.

It does raise some interesting questions though it is pretty obvious that the game is "fixed" from very early on (though I don't think that in this kind of game/story that isn't a bad thing inherently). I did play it twice just to see if the ending would change. All in all always glad to see this kind of game!

Neat idea.

[spoilers!] It’s pretty clear what’s happening from near the beginning though, once you roll the 4th one or so it’s clear that you are on rails. As a player then, I don’t want a 6, I want more story. That’s why I, too, picked the fair dice. Just to go off the rails, to have a chance to see something different. – Which is interesting because nearly everyone else seems to have had the same thought – by yearning to be free of conformity I have instead given in to it.

I think it’s so clear (that the rolls are fixed) because games like this are not alone anymore. They are on the way to becoming an own genre. It will be harder to continue, because the need to refer to other games of this type in these games themselves.

Still, it always gives me a jolt to see things like this in game-jams too.

Super cute! Really good writing.

This comment contains spoilers. For anyone reading that hasn't yet played, please go do so. It is a short and enjoyable narrative experience, and my commentary will ruin it for you since it is so story focused.

I loved the psychology of this game. I didn't think of it, but the other commenter's comparison to The Stanley Parable is apt, and I adore that game. The little choice at the end was far more intriguing than I would have expected from the game up to that point, which was a fun surprise and certainly comparable to the hilarious charm of The Stanley Parable.

I chose to roll the Fair Die. Of course, since I rolled a 3, I'm left wondering if it truly was fair! But never could I go for the fixed die, since that would seem to defeat the point. I felt compelled to try and stick it to the unseen narrator, who had become a sort of adversary to overcome. Rolling a guaranteed 6 would have been such a cheap way out, like I did it their way instead of my way. And yet, my way didn't work out either, and here I am, more delighted than ever to have lost a game!

Finally a game that went inside my head :D Good job with the storytelling. Unique idea

The anxiety the rolls caused is too much. Such an awesome idea and executed in perfect style. Great visual treat.

Great writing! What a cool little experience! I don't even know what to think at the end, I chose the fair die and rolled a six, so was it truly fair? Who knows!

Awesome work!

Very unique game for the jam.

Yes, this is not a game with a new ground breaking mechanic, or a well polished game filled with juice , this is just a small game about you trying to roll 6 on a die and failing.

I don't know what would of happened if i rolled 6. I picked a fair dice and failed. Maybe it's best to let go of the felling that you need to know what will happen and just accept that sometimes letting go is better than desperately clinging to any possibility it could be something special so much so that you rather pick an unfair dice just to see what will happen.

Short, funny, at times philosophical, i like it.

Absolutely enjoyable experience! I had a great time and loved thinking about the monologue. And the choice at the end  was the cherry on top!

I do wish there was a little more to the story, but I suppose I'll have to wait for you to expand it!

This is extremely cute!

Short but sweet, the idea is very straight foward but it really feels good to play. Gives me Stanley Parable vibes, you could really expand upon this and make it longer and longer! Maybe theres a little upgrade that you can get that gives you two die, but you never get 6 still but regardless, i quite enjoyed it! Alot of love has gone into this one for sure

Thanks so much for playing

Ooh... I like the idea, really runs with the concept! I really focused on not over-scoping this year, but now my imagination is running away with it...

The jams over, go off on your own terms! If you have an idea, even if you dont finish/release it i would still consider making it, its the experience that counts!

Oh. My.  Goodness.

This might honestly be my favorite game in the jam.  It felt like it was designed and made specifically for me. XD

I literally laughed out loud several times, great job on the writing!

I replayed it to try both endings, and the results were... interesting. ;)

It gave me super Stanley Parable vibes.  Would recommend to everyone.

Fantastic work!

I really appreciate the kind words. It means a lot, truly

And I'm so glad! Exactly the tone I was going for, it's awesome to know it came through

Very polished, I really enjoyed it. The music fit the theme, the art was perfect in its simplicity. Not to mention the dialogue! The choice at the end really sold it for me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! In a way, I wish I had managed to somehow store what choices people ended up going with, but I felt that was the player's business hehe

super fun. And the presentation is top notch. So tastefully made

Developer

Thank you. That means a lot

I... this game feels really insightful. I love the phrase "In the end, for you, they might as well be the same number. They aren't 6".  Didn't expect to get this kind of experience, but I absolutely loved it. Thanks for making this!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words. I'm really glad the phrasing paid off

I just woke up I wasn’t expecting a philosophical discussion.

Love this. Keep up the great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! Hopefully it wasn't too jarring hehe

It is somehow very relaxing...

Fun concept! I imagine this as a form of afterlife punishment. "welcome to hell, roll a 6 and you can leave." Great job!

Imagine XD Such a soft, yet brutal eternity

Short, simple sweet. I love a small narrative game that waxes philosophical about chance ^-^
