I got to rook.  I liked the concept!   My main strategy for staying alive was just to look up to see where the pieces spawned.  I liked the different effects for each die number, but I think it would have been more interesting if you'd let the number the die rolled on determine the effect and had the ability to either jump or interact with the dice in some way.  I think this idea has potential by introducing more types of dice (d4s, d6s, etc).  If you wanted to keep your difficulty progression concept where higher numbers = more danger, you could scale it so that earlier levels use lower-numbered dice and as you get further in the game, higher-numbered dice  are introduced.

First of all, we want to thank you for your time to write some feedback and play our game. We like your proposed ideas and we appreciate them a lot, we'll work to implement some other mechanics and proposed ideas, and make the game more interesting for our players! :D

I got to the bishop! I liked the direction you took with the different coloured die having different effects, especially the falling red dice stage, where you could get away for a split second while it bounced. The dice could have been any other object, such as colored cubes, so maybe the number a dice lands on should determine its effect?  Other than that, fun game once you get past the easier stages.

Honestly, when we chose the dice as the falling objects, it was mainly intended to fit with the jam's theme, but giving some sense to the landed die number in order to make the game more impredictable sounds pretty interesting.

We appreciate your feedback, and we're very happy to hear you enjoyed the game. We reiterate our gratitude for your time and nice comments! :D

I was really confused about the chess piece icon, that didn't seem to do anything.

Also this may be a bug, but it seems like dice never fell on the edges of the board, so you could just cheese the game mostly by just hugging edges. A timer and score to show how long you've been surviving for would be nice for replayability. Maybe an indicator of what dice is coming up or that the game is getting harder. I'm just throwing out ideas here!

The chess piece represents your progress along the game, and it'll change while you survive.

We appreciate your feedback and we'll work to be more specific in this kind of mechanics we missed to write on the "how to play" and of course polish the game after your valious comments to make it more attractive for our current and future players.

We appreciate your time to play our game and to give us some feedback :D

I was confused on how the chess-pieces interacted with the game. At times I felt like I would be able to move faster by looking in certain directions, leading me to think that was the relation to the chess pieces.

If there was something I was missing, I wish it would have been included in your "How to Play" section, since the rest of that was robust and let me know what to expect going into the game!

Overall, was a cool concept!

The chess pieces were just a way to represent your progress in the game, and the speed boost was a temporary effect given by the golden dice, which we forgot to mention in the "how to play".

We thank your time to play and to write a comment to us, and of course we appreciate your valious feedback and we'll work hard on being more specific and understandable in the instructions for future versions! :D

Enjoyment-  The idea is really amazing and is executed almost perfectly within the first 5 to 10 seconds. After that, the game becomes stale and hard to keep going. A simple and effective way to counter this might just be to make it so the dice don't disappear and they also fall faster. Overall great idea but the gameplay might need some tweaking. 3/5 ( Please add a jump)

Creativity- As said before, it is an amazing idea that is really fluid with the theme of the game jam and since your fate is literally up to the "Roll of the dice", it fits well within those guidelines. 5/5

Presentation- The menu needs something to really make it pop. You could add animations to the buttons and I think that would do the trick.  I do not really know why there is a random pawn in the top right-hand corner. The hearts need a little bit of work. Not the best but, still salvageable.2/5

Overall really good prototype for a game! Clean up some of the visuals, and expand the core concepts to fit a longer play session.

We appreciate your feedback and, of course, we'll try to work harder in our UI design and menus.

We've recieved the pawn icon issue in some other comments, and we apologize about not mentioning its objective in our "how to play" section.  It was intented to mean your progress in the game, changing from pawn until king all along the game.

Again, we appreciate your time to play our game and your detailed and valious feedback :D
