A great puzzle game I love so much. Please continue doing it! I found 1 bug is a wall jump, this is much easier than walking by a wall

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words! I'm happy that you like the game.  ๐Ÿ˜Š

I will try to fix the wall jump and then patch the game after the rating phase.

I loved the atmosphere, art style and music. It gave across a sad and hopeful feeling as intended :)

Developer

Happy to hear that! Thank you! :)

Hey! I reviewed this game on my live stream. You can hear my feedback here:

The game is beautiful, the terrain is nicely put and the music gives it a sad but also hopeful atmosphere, and i love it. the characters breaks it a bit for me, small things like flipping the animation would have me it less weird

technical and design wise needs a revision, it is highly cheesable and i did not get the suposed jump seeds .

With extra work it can be a nice experience with a lot to tell. So keep it up!

Developer

You didn't get the correct jump seeds? Do you remember how that might have been triggered?

Submitted(+1)

not sure, i just jumped to the checkpoint where it said "you got jump seeds" but i didn't have any

Developer

Hm... did you use the mouse wheel to scroll through the seeds?

The climbing mechanic doesn't implemented too well. Not because it can be cheated but to do it properly as intended is quite sophisticated for me.

Notes in this game has different fonts and I really had a hard time understanding cursive writings in this game. I have seen other cursive writing, but this one maybe the one I'm not familiar with.

However the atmosphere in this game is nice also the music is calm too.

Developer

Hey, thanks for your feedback! In what way was the mechanics too sophisticated?

With the font, I thought back and forth because it really wasn't good to read, but then I decided to go for it because it was the closest to a real handwriting font.

Very visually nice and atmospheric. Lovely environment.

I liked the wall climbing mechanic! I think I cheated. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Developer

I'm afraid everyone cheated. I should have been more careful with the character movement possibilities...๐Ÿ˜„

Beautiful visuals and choice of colors, and the idea for the story resonates with me. I always appreciate a good gradient and glow :D

There's not much in terms of mechanics and level design though, I'd honestly just leave out most of the platforming and focus on telling the story through other kinds of puzzles or progress mechanics. The art and story can stand on their own and doesn't need an excuse to "exist". I want to see the weird and interesting plants this scientist has bred and discovered without them having to serve a pure gameplay-need. Heck, even treating the player to visual spectacle as a response to their actions can be gameplay enough.

By the way, the wall climbing is somewhat broken. You don't need to use a single seed or anything, you can just stick to any wall and "fly" up by repeatedly pressing jump. I think I managed to reach the top in less than 10 seconds.

Hey, I'm happy that you like the game (at least parts of it :D) so much!

At the beginning, I had the idea of the platformer, for which you need three types of plants to get to the top. It turned into two plants after a few days, cause otherwise I couldn't have done the rest. <.<'

A lot of platformers lack narrative for me, and I love telling stories, so I really wanted to base the whole thing on a story.

The problem with the "walljump" didn't occur to me until an hour before I had to submit the game, unfortunately. But so close to the end I was afraid of breaking the game if I changed anything on the character controller...
