Letter, for a 2d pixel art horror game, this game is fantastic, it just needs a few adjustments, I died without knowing what happened, it would be good to work more on the design in this part, if it doesn't make it difficult for the player to be able to escape or react. But other than that, very good, great work. If you can, stop by my game and leave a review, please.

I was walking round fixing things thinking a "a safe room from what?"... then boom ! Thank you for this wicked little entry into the jam!

This game got me spooked a couple times, which is a good thing for sure! I liked the atmosphere, environment, and sound effects. I did feel there was nothing much I could do about the monster. The monster would also go through solid objects when I tried to run from it, which gave it an unfair advantage. Also the UI (like the "Press E to fix" text and the "fix" button itself) would be covered by the shadow around the player, making it a little hard to read unless I had my flashlight on (I could see this being intentional, though). Otherwise, with a bit of bug fixing, you got yourself a pretty neat horror game. I'm impressed!

Thanks for playing! I'm glad  my use of sound and lighting stood out. I agree that the collisions with the furniture and creature needs some development, i'll admit the enemy ai/pathfinding was probably the most difficult part of the creation😅.

Very good atmosphere and I like the idea, the execution is also good - but I've ran into some problems with the hitboxes, you sometimes get stuck on nothing in particular, and the monster also  can kill you from further away then what would seem fair. Very nice work nonetheless!

Thanks for playing! You're right I probably should've prioritised balancing a bit more 😅

Love it! as you say, we did almost the same kind of game, at the beginning I did not understand how to fix the vending machine I though that only pressing E will be fine, I didn't see the "FIX" button over me, I like the dead screen and I like how to minimum vision create a horror atmosphere, Awesome game

I had my boyfriend play it while I watched since I'm scared of horror games, but it seemed like a really good and well made game!!

I think this use of the theme is great! Really solid entry, and I enjoyed it a lot :) The monster design and the splash screen is great!

Only thing I would think of as a suggestion is to randomize the objects you need to fix if you happen to die (which I did a lot) so the replayability improves.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! You made a good point with the objective randomisation and if i ever return to develop the project further, this will be my main focus :D
