Can't say you didn't hit the FAMILY theme. :) As others have said, we have good memories of making games with our family when we were kids (no Godot back then though!).

Interesting to see where this one progresses, good luck guys.

thanks.  if you're interested, there is more info on the gamepage. also feel free to add to your collection so you get notifications with updates. we are already reworking this scene as this was only made to test some game mechanics. We intend to add some survival and RPG elements and some combat, but the main focus will be the story because, who are you, and more important, where are you? :)

Very ominous start to a game! Looks like it will be pretty creepy and interesting when you flesh it out some more. Curious to find out what the secrets will be used for!

The music and the fog with lights gave it an ominous atmosphere. Felt like I was about to discover something that would scare me. I managed to find all the apples!

The music cuts off after a while.

Overall an interesting game, and an original take on the them "Family".

This game is pretty mysterious and the gloomy atmosphere is really working. I like the fact that you reuse the objects the player is grabbing to make a building in the background!

Good job making a 3D project with your kiddo in such a short amount of time!

Good family job. Nice atmosphere with the sound and graphics. I am curious what these light orbs floating around are, and I was curious to walk and discover the area. I was wondering what the building far away was. I liked finding stuff around, the feeling of discovery is there.

Is there a story behind this scenery?  I am curious. Regarding the secrets, I am not really sure what I was picking up. At some point I picked up a sort of pillar, when I thought I was seeing a note on it.

As you said in your game page, the music isn't looping, but that's just a minor technical thing.

I found the character movement a bit slippery, even more when on top of objects like the crates. It feels like the character is sliding.

For your future project, the inventory will be a great addition. I would personally like to know more about the story you are trying to tell, and it would be nice to have that through the items we pick up. Maybe even just being able to look at them closely in the inventory to understand better what it is, or have a small textual description, to still keep the mystery.

I love that you made this game with your family, I think you lucky to be a part of blood family of developers.

The game is good, the art and the sound as well. But you said that you will continue on it, I can't see what you are developing on, for now there is only a 3d character that collect stuff. Are you going for a survival game or a collector game with some puzzles.

Hope you the best of luck!

Very unexpected but welcome use of the theme :) Interesting (and creepy) atmosphere. Very nice! From what I understand you intend to continue making this game - can't wait what happens with it!

That's a unique way to meet the theme :D

Nice game! We had a hard enough time making 2D assets, I can't imagine trying to model and texture 3D assets! If you're making further updates on it, you should maybe set the music to loop... it ended before I could find the last food (I'm slow).

Developer

we are aware of the music. if you like it, visit the gamepage as there is a lot more info. I was under the impression the gamejam would take you there, but apparently only games playable on the gamepage are taken to the gamepage. games with a download receive a very small hardly noticeable link :).

Submitted(+1)

My bad, I didn't notice the link / read the game page. It seems you only get a big red button when the game is playable on the brower...

I hope you have fun with your sons! One of my best childhood memories is making games with my uncle ;)

Very sweet to hear that you did this as a family, fits the theme in an unexpected way :) Music is eerie and fits the atmosphere well, but if you made the scene a little darker I think the music would fit perfectly.

Really neat idea! Managed to find all the food and secrets. Impressive you were able to do this very little 3D experience. I think you guys have a lot of potential, keep at it!
