I like how it starts out with this general "Just go at it!" attitude, without to much of a tutorial. The graphics are crisp and mix well with the music.


Unfortunately the jump seems lower in the web version than in the demo video, so I could not get very far.

I like the character switching mechanic with the gem toss, i also like how you used color only on interactive elemens of the game like characters and such and the rest is monochrome, it has that spectrum look to it with a modern touch like the smooth physics when you throw the gem and other objects.

Small issues still : the way you explained the controls i didn't think every character will have different abilities, so i got stuck for a while on the first level until i discovered that the green guy could double jump, once i figured this out i had a better time so the only small issue i'd say that remains is not having a quick restart button for when you fail to throw the gem on a character and after it stops you have to wait through the rest of the timer to try again.

Other than that it's quite fun and you've nailed the coop aspect especially in some later levels where you have to carefully understand which char can go where  in order to clear the way for others etc..

Yes, I agree on that I didn't put any tutorial in the beginning of the game, that was my bad. And for restarting you can use <R> to restart the level, sorry I didn't write this info in any place, I was in a rush.

Really nice entry! The art was very cohesive, the music catchy, and the concept fun.

However I had some issues jumping as well, they do not jump like in the video, not nearly as high... Also of note the yellow one seems to be able to double jump if you tap jump quick enough and aren't right up against a wall. It's the only way I was able to progress. Really not sure why...

Otherwise my only suggestion: I think some type of throw strength indicator would help. It's currently hard to predict how far the gem is going to go.

The bug of not jumping hight enough is weird. I don't think it happens for everyone. I removed the half jump thinking it would be the problem but it seems not. I will check that out, but that would be after the Jam ends.

On the other hand, the yellow brother double jump it's the first time I hear about it. It should be a bug.

Wanted to let you know I think the jumping issue may be tied to high refresh rate monitors? I originally played it on a 144hz G-SYNC monitor and had the jumping issues, the frame deltas would be much smaller (6.94ms)... However I tried it on a cheapo typical 60hz (16.6ms) display and the jumping was fine! I can't say for sure if that is the issue, but it might be worth looking into?

Really impressive level of polish in this game. The graphics are good, the music is good, the level design seems pretty spot on. I also had trouble figuring out the first level until I came back and read the controls, but after that I was able to move on. I like how all the brothers play differently and look a bit different to kinda show what they are good at.
The only thing that was frustrating to me was the arc'ed gem toss. I'd be standing right next to my brother and still miss the throw and have to restart the level. It'd be really nice if it was more of a strong straight toss at the cursor or if it the brothers would suck it in if I threw it "close enough".

I still think that the problem is not from thrown the gem but from the "physics of the gem". I knew that was a bad physics from the first day but I had to keep up. I used the RigidBody but, and there physics made the gem movement unpredictable. I was planning to replace it with KinematicBody and create my own bouncy physics, but the time wasn't in my favor.

The idea the brothers suck  the gem if it close to theme seems a good idea. And also the game needs some check points (I runout of time before I make them).

I will work on fixing the game and adding more mechanics with more levels in the future.

Yeah, I think you've got a good point, it could have been the gem physics. Had you tried using a circle collider instead of sticking with the gem shape? It might have made it a bit more predictable, which could also help. Just a thought.

Thanks for the advise, but I am using circle collision (it seems that a circle it's just a polygon with a lot of faces, not a perfect circle).

I liked the pixel art graphics and the music, they really fit together. The overall presentation is really polished. I was really interested in discovering the different brothers but sadly I couldn't figure out how to pass the start of the first level (I feel bad ^^). I am stuck at the kind of door and my brother is sleeping next to it.  I guess I have to wake him up so that he can help me somehow?

Thanks for checking the game. It's my bad that I focused on making the game and not in puting any clues and hints to the player to know what he should do.

You need to pass the Gem you holding to the next brother to get it to the right place. You aim with the mouse and throw the gem with Left mouse button.

Check out the video for full game play, because the next levels contain puzzles that not self explanatory.

No I found that link, I failed to discover the double jump! But I have now and I'm stuck on level 2 instead! Was cool to see more of the game though, thanks for pulling me back to it :-)

Hi there, I tried playing the original and the updated link below. Original doesn't run. And for the updated one I cannot make the 2nd and 3rd character jump very high. Sometimes I can get the 2nd character up to that level. But never the 3rd. And they _do not_ jump like they do in your video.

This is a pity because the video shows you have lots of content (which I want to play!). I will hold off on rating until perhaps a minor fix comes out.

Thanks for checking, I don't know what is happening actually. It works fine for me, but a friend say the same thing about the game.

I think I will remove the half jump, it should be the problem.

Remember that the Green brother have a double jump.

just played again. in the first stage, I was standing above the 3th brother. I didn't jump down. I dropped the diamond and it felt trough the floor.

looked like it bounced into the corner on the left and didn't had a ground there, so it felt down and timer kept running.

Great concept and puzzles. However the mechanic of throwing the diamond to whoever needs it and missing is frustrating as you have to start the whole level again. But that may just be my bad aim. :P

Thanks for playing the game. I agree with you throwing the gem is fine the problem with the gem it self, I used Rigidbody2d for it but it gives that backward effect, I was planning to changing to KinimaticBody and creating my own physics but I didn't have time for that, and Yes it is frustrating even to me, but you can go around that if you aim to the right spot so it doesn't go back or stop. I was planning for a checkpoints because the game is hard but I didn't have time for that too.

I hope you enjoyed it with those problems. I am curious which level you reach.

I really like the game even thou I never get past the second level (I'm suck at shooting) It's totally better than my trash game
