Its so cool that you participated as a family! The 3D was really beautiful (the wooden box and mist effects especially), music was nice, and the controls were good (and with no glitches when walking through rough terrain). But similar to other comments, I also though the sensitivity was a little too high, and maybe the jump was a little too low / quick (most 3D games longer "air" time, so it felt off at first, but you can always say the gravity is stronger on the planet).
I didn't find the last food, but I managed to pass the red-white limit and fall out of the world! \o/ (I like finding bugs.) It's possible to jump over them directly by jumping exactly over where they bend, or by walking/jumping through the rocks on the sides. You will probably change this completely the new version, but I think a huge invisible wall would have done the job as well.
I'm still wondering why some rocks are black. Was it a lighting bug/feature, or is there a mystery to solve?
Anyway, great job!
thanks for the input. I was aware of most of the ways to leave the terrain, but jumping over the red/white thing was new to me. (and a little bit very stupid of me not to think about it myself :) ). I did change the colour of 2 stones to see what was possible with a Godot material.
It's a cool game, the gameplay isn't my cup of tea. The graphics are good. BUT, there's a problem, no way to adjust sensivity, the default one is too high for me, i wish i could adjust it
thanks for the response. I never noticed the sensivity myself but as several people posted this as comment we will look into it. the main goal whas to check what was possible for us. we are currently rebuilding the whole thing from scratch as several people also mentioned the fact that some people have (a lot of) lag.
After the help of a friend, I have finally gotten a chance to play the game.
I would just like to start off by saying that the 3D is PHENOMENAL.
Unfortunately, as a side effect of that, I couldn't really run the game very fast. Nothing above 10 fps. I am totally willing to give that a slide though since my laptop isn't actually that great, and I could totally be the only person experiencing this issue.
I guess I expected a little more something from all the issues I had trying to get the game working, but I suppose that's my own fault for expecting. I still liked the game.
There unfortunately wasn't that much gameplay, but this is alright since this was just a game jam game, and from reading the game's official page, I noticed that you guys aren't exactly veterans of Godot. I do hope you guys really like Godot and it continues to grow on you!
Edit:
I also totally forgot to mention how cool I think it is that you made something with your family! This is perhaps the best interpretation of the theme! The game itself doesn't exactly fit the theme, but the fact that it was made by a family totally counts in my book! Super creative, I love it!
thanks for the response. we are currently rebuilding the whole thing from scratch as both lag and mouse sensivity are major issues. the whole idea is to make it a more story driven game with RPG and survival elements. As we didn't found the time to figure out animation before the end of the jam there is not much gameplay at the moment. with what we have in mind for this level would normally give you 15-20 min gameplay and would function as a tutorial part. you discover a flashlight, an apple would lead to an explanation of the food/survival. the screwdriver would learn you to fix and build stuff. the "buildings" in the distance would give you a reason to wonder further in the world. and the spider is not something you would like to meet at night in the dark.
We did post this first as a HTML file, but performance was terrible and it did mess up the lights. if you are interested feel free to follow so you will get notifications when we post the rebuild.
The game is not incredible, but I had a good time with it. Nice modelling btw.
this game is so cool i love that it is 3D.....
I think it's very cool that you made something with your sons!
I unfortunately have some issues with extracting the .pck file in particular. I've done about 2 minutes of looking into it and found people tend to have similar issues when extracting items in a .rar archive on my OS. Could you maybe do a .zip or .tar.gz instead?
Isaac, as I can not change the file I put a zip file on Mega-upload. hope this will work. after the jam I will change the file if this is working.

Cool concept. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of it!
Well done! The models are really good IMO. Also the music sets a nice mood!
I really liked the environment and the soundtrack. I wish something happened after collecting everything just so i was sure if there was anything else to do after it, and maybe that was just a problem with my computer, but the game ran really slowly. Would love to see a full game based on this
thanks. if you're interested, there is more info on the gamepage. also feel free to add to your collection so you get notifications with updates. You are right about the lag, the whole thing is badly optimised and we probably use way to many objects. That's one of the reasons we are already reworking this scene and also as this was only made to test some game mechanics. We intend to add some survival and RPG elements and some combat, but the main focus will be the story because, who are you, and more important, where are you? :)
Nice concept, i like the whole "mystery" atmosphere the music sets for the game and i like the low poly visuals.
The main issue with the game is performance, this needs some optimisation, but otherwise you've got a good base to build a game upon here. Congrats to you guys !
The game atmosphere was cool.
I collected all the stuff... but nothing happened after that. Just a text confirmation of 'You Win' or something would be nice
Good job on this game! I enjoyed exploring the beautiful world with two moons. The music and the art gave it a wonderfully eerie atmosphere that really made you want to keep exploring the world. Nicely done :)
Nice game! I really liked that you worked together with your family! That is really cool!
I look forward to seeing what else you guys make as a family :-)
Graphics were really nice, sound set up tension.

Good job on making your game with your family. Your game has a lot potential, great work!

The game was laggy, sadly.
Probably my computer! (could have turned down the shadow quality a bit.
The controls were a bit confusing at first but I got it!
It was good game, I just wish it was a bit more obvious.
it does lag here as well sometimes. main problem I think is very bad optimalisation from our side :). texture of the tree is way to high res, and I think I used way to many objects for this.
Wow great work ! Congratulations to all the family :) Being a father myself, I long for the moment it will be possible for me to share the passion !
Otherwise, the assets are great and the music is fantastique. I enjoyed discovering the level. The mouse sensibility was a bit high but it didn't ruin the experience !

Music fits the game really good. Creates appropriate atmosphere. I enjoyed exploring the level

Great job to the whole team! I found all the food and secrets. I couldn't help think "sonic screwdriver", every time I saw a secret haha.
stop reading my mind :)
wasn't intentional, but at some point I noticed it as well.
Your game had a really cool atmosphere and the art was really beautiful. Great job building a game as a family!
