Pretty polished game! I kinda wish the flying was a bit faster. The energy of the game made me feel like I wanted to move quicker. Also, seemed like using a controller was only partially implemented. I tried using it and it seemed like if I moved the stick slightly up or down, it wouldn't register left or right.
also, very interesting crt shader. did you create that yourself?

Thanks. If you catch enough "+ speed" power ups the speed will increase, that's why I made the plane start with a slow speed. If you want to go faster from the start, check the credit window and use the cheat codes.

With my gamepad it works fine, maybe it's a gamedap model thing. Try to reconfigure it in the configuration window. But I would not be surprised if something was wrong in the code XD

No the shader is not mine, in the credit window you can see the link to the creator of the shader. I tried to create it myself but with the limited time I gave up and used this one.

great game! its a bit difficult, and after your tenth try not having checkpoints gets frustrating

Nice shaders! I enjoyed it though I'm not sure what the +shoot powerup does. Excellently paced and reminds me of a lot of old arcade games.

Shoot power reduces waiting time between shoots. At the beginning you shoot twice and after 1.5 seconds you shoot twice again, if you use a +shoot the time is reduced by 0.5s. With 3 +shoot you shoot without stopping.
I hate how much I wanted to beat this game and ended up retrying way too many times. I was never able to make it to the end and ended up having to resort to the cheat codes. The shaders and particle and sound effects kept the game from going (pardon my pun) stale. Overall a pretty fun game. :)

When I make a game the same thing always happens to me, after so much testing it ends up looking easy and I usually make it more difficult :(
Haha, yeah, I have that problem sometimes as well. Don't worry about it too much, game jams are for learning after all. I quite like a challenging game myself, I just didn't have too much time to spend on only playing this game. I might come back to this another time and try to beat it legit. :)

Really great game, i beat it two times, first time with 90000 hi-score and the second 150000 hi-score (with cheats). I like the CRT shaders, the graphics are great, the music is nice and it's very fun to play.

Cheat codes can be found on the credits screen. To activate them, type the word while playing.
Windows and mac versions are untested, I hope they don't break :)
