Slashing multiple enemies at once feels really cool. Unfortunately I left them alone for too long while I was focusing on the heart and when I looked back there were a few dozen of them and my framerate was somewhere in the Mariana Trench. That was fun, though!
Fair point. I still struggle with optimization of 3D games. I will try to include graphical settings and cut on CPU usage in the future.
Thank you for playing ;)
The combat and movement in this was pretty satisfying, and I loved the aesthetic of the art style. After a while the worms really started piling up and caused some massive frame drops when I would slash at the big mob. Dunno if it was the drops spawning in or what.
Overall very good, though. I played through a couple of times. :)
so the slowdown when you slash a pile of worms is actually an intentional effect that I made, but I should have limited it to a maximum number of enemies. basically if you slash two or three guys, theres a small delay between each one taking damage which feels cool. however if you slash like 10 or 15 worms, it has a small delay between each one and it basically just makes the game stop for a couple seconds lol. thanks for the compliments!
The slashes are sooo satisfying! I also appreciate the variety in enemies, and the hability to switch weapons. Well done!
Awesome game! The sword and gun combo is a big win for me. It was very satisfying to watch the boss finally collapse after a hard fought battle. Cool submission!
The controls were smooth. From shooting to slashing. Having the effect of moving up while attacking reminded me of some Ninja Gaiden moves. It was a nice touch to stall the game when slashing some enemies. The boss was a cool way of having an objective by attacking parts of it, again reminds me of those Ninja Gaiden bosses. The shooting cross-air was a nice touch. As of writing I think I have to time it to the beat of the heart as I kept shooting randomly and missing.
The graphics and effects were well done! Fitted the theme nicely.
My only issue would be the performance. My laptop could not take the amount of carnage, so it was stuttering a lot after the second heart was destroyed. Like 3FPS or something
Doing something like this in one week is incredible, well done!
Really fun, nice job! Quite impressed that you got all these models done within a week. I really like the visuals. Smooth controls too, you can definitely expand this into a gory fps. It's a bit too easy, but good stress relief to just mindlessly murder things. Well done :)
I really loved this one. Did not stop playing until I could win and when I won I wish the game was longer so I could slash more. I have a serious psychological issue with gore in games/movies in general (I can't stand watching a surgery movie) and this game made the blood part unrealistic enough to be appreciated even by me. My brain makes no connection to real blood/body parts at all. Nailed it.
Interesting perspective. I never thought that someone could have issue with that. Very enlightening!
Maybe we should think about setting to remove gore from the game. Thank you Vela!
Sorry if you felt some discomfort and I hope you had fun playing :)
The point is exactly I didn't feel any at all! Now I want to make a game with these mechanics as well haha
I dig the visuals and the character design !
The movement and controls are tight, combat against the enemy horde is super fun with the occasional stylish slow mo, and i like the fact that you have both a gun and a sword.
My only gripe while playing this is i had a bit of performance issues, the game stuttered and froze a bit when there was a lot on screen, still managed to complete it and had a good time, just needs a bit of optimisation.
Good job nonetheless, this rocks :)
Thank you for your comment!
Just for future reference: What hardware do you have?
No problem, i always try to give some feedback and not just rate and say nothing XD
i've got quite a potato PC i'm on an i3 and my graphics card is an older Nvidia, don't remember the exact number reference.
This game is amazing! Really nice work
Great game! I really like the visuals/animations and controls. It also feels really well balanced, which is not always easy in action games. Well done!
WOW! Lets just say i got so into that game Isabella started to shout at me as i was clicking my mouse and keyboard too much thus creating a lot of noise LOL! super well done to you and your team!
My girlfriend screamed at me yesterday to STOP. CLICKING. THE. F******. MOUSE. !!! So it hit right into the feels :D
Thank you for playing! :D
That was a seriously satisfying experience! Felt very retro, well done! The art and controls were superb!
My only comment would be that it felt like there was no stakes in that I was recovering too much health.
Still sooo very awesome! Great job.
Thank you for playing our game!
Game is too easy? Maybe YOU are just too good at it :D
[ I literally just played the game and died :C ]
It's both weird and satisfying when a kill a hundred worms with a single sword slash... Nice visuals and very precise and smooth controls. Nice job!
I'm glad you like it and thank you for checking out our game!
I'm adding your game to my list of games to play first ;)
I followed your progress and am amazed to finally play this. What a gem you made in such a short time. Really really cool! The 3D models and animations are amazing, the pace is great, melee combat is bloody good. Good luck.
