Really nice game but I found it too hard to concentrate on both sides for long. The art works well, the controls and upgrades are nice.
A great little shooter! Admittedly, at first, I didn’t understand the score goal and the first two times I leveled up it didn’t quite click with me it was because I hit the goal, lol. I can be slow at time. Once all of the mechanics clicked with me, I really started enjoying the game!
I thought the use of polygons instead of art assets was a great choice, especially given the black and white nature of the game.
Over all, there’s not much to critique in this game. The controls work well. The leveling system makes progression fun. The game itself is a challenge without being overwhelming (at least for me).
Wonderful game!
Thanks for playing!
Well done!! Kind of has the spirit of a game like Ikaruga if you replaced inversion with symmetry., which is really cool. Having the ships be able to wrap from inside to outside and vice versa was a nice touch. Super impressive for a one-person team, congrats!!
Thanks for playing!
Fun game, but stressful! I'm too old for it!
Haha! it does get stressful at times. Glad you enjoyed it!
Great game! The only thing that seems a bit off was the enemy shoot be slower than the proper enemy.
Thanks for playing! I could've fixed this easily by setting the min bullet speed to the enemy movement speed, but I was focused on balancing the difficulty in the final stretch.
apart from the music in mono-left side only, this is highly impressive for a jam game made in only three days! congrats! couldn't get past the next goal at 106720, but had lots of fun with it! :)
Haha yeah! I balanced it to end when you got all upgrades. Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!
"Multitasking at its finest", lost it there :D A lot of fun, was about to complain about the slow controls until I reached the skill-screen! Really well executed, I like it
Yeah, I had to slow things down to account for two screens at once. The text messages are probably my favorite thing about the game. Thanks for playing!
Simple and well executed idea. The black-and-white look really hits home the symmetry idea. And it's a good stress test for the brain trying to mirror the required inputs at times!
Thanks for playing! I almost added a feature that inverted the controls every now and then but figured it was challenging enough haha. I find myself sticking to near the center of the screen as it's easier to process the ship movements.
this game is great and fun! :) i liked it a lot
Thanks for playing!
This was absolutely a blast! I think this was an incredibly clever idea. It rode that edge of extremely challenging but possible. I was able to get nearly all the upgrades, was just down to a couple of speed upgrades before I couldn't go any longer. I think all the game design decisions here were superb. The white/black contrast looked really nice. I thought it was super clever how the shapes shrunk as you took damage. I loved the variety of enemies and upgrades.
It felt really weird and brain splitting switching focus between the left and right side and I'm surprised how quickly I could context switch what I needed to press to move correctly.
Great job. Super impressed.
Thanks for the feedback! It’s great hearing my game was enjoyable! I’ll be sure to rate and check out your game when I get the chance!
Nice game. I like that enemies have unique fighting patterns, weird that music can be only heard in one ear.
I’ll test with headphones to see if this is a game issue. It was fun programming the randomness for each enemy. Chaser, Random, and Still are the 3 movement types with a dive behavior being random. Thanks for the feedback! I really enjoyed your game also! I’ll rate it once I get the chance.
