Game Description
Tower Defense using a printer theme

How does your game tie into the theme?
This tower defense allows placement on the map to create a path and ideally would have more options of printer attachments to choose from to assemble custom towers.

Lovely tower defense game. I liked how the towers sometimes acted independently, not always targeting the one in front. Also neat path finding

Developer

Thank you very much!

The game is entertaining, I played until round 30, the gameplay is kept simple, fast and challenging.

I think it has a lot of potential, thinking outside of a jam, if more things are added like an upgrade system for example.

I got stuck in round 38 because I didn't have more space to place towers :c

Developer

Yeah, that was something I didn't think about until after people played it. No "Start Round" button means it's easy to lock the game.    So... in this version of the game, you won!

I agree about adding a little variety to enemy and certain benefits for the different colors. Nice entry!

Thank you for  the feedback!

Funny take at tower defense! I wish there was some sort of goal or enemy variety in size, speed, etc. Overall a good entry!

I really liked the game.

Tried to force them go my way but it keeps finding a better path :)

You can try to add some bg graphics, music and sfx and game will definitely look better that way!

Good job!

Developer

The shapes have their own mind :D Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment and suggestions for futures jams!

SFX and music are a new domain for me, do you have any recommended programs that you use for your projects?

Submitted

Ideally you would have a team mate who will take care of that.

But the easiest way is to get some free sfx and music.

You can check itch.io there is an assets section for that.

If you want to try to make your own music and you don't have any experience playing some instrument (e.g. piano, guitar) I would recommend something like fruity loops (FL studio) where you can combine existing patches to create something new.

Or if you are able to write music on your own anything like cubase, ableton and etc will do (with different sample libraries)

Good luck with that!

Developer

Thanks for the info!

I liked the ability of being able to place towers wherever we want, I just feel like it lacks some variety to make a good decision in placement. Like "This color is better at close range" or "This color attacks slower but does more damage." would go a long way in making this game better.
Also if you're going with the printer color theme, on idea for upgrades could be combining colors together to create a new tower with a different color.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback and for playing the game! I can see how that would help with strategy and player engagement in the gameplay loop.
