A nice little platformer. I liked the overall feel and it was very playable all the way through to the end. Nice job wrapping it all up and polishing!
The controls felt a little bit clunky. Some acceleration and deceleration would help. Maybe also less overall speed on the player and some control over jump force -- applying it over time while the button is held.
The sound was pretty harsh and loud, so next time I would try toning that down a little bit. "softer" sounds tend to work best for thing that are heard often like jumping and -- in this case -- dying. :D
I don't personally mind it but it did feel like I got set back kind of far to the nearest checkpoint in a few places. It might be nice to try to put the hardest jumps close to the checkpoints to make iteration a little bit easier on the player.
Overall great work!
A cute looking game, but I found myself struggling with how unkind the control was, and so died a lot. Then having to restart several screens back was rough.
Still, it runs clean, looks great, and the control did feel nice in the air.
Well done!
This was a pretty fun game. The graphics are cute. The controls felt good and snappy to me. Seems like it would be a fun game to speedrun. Could have used some music tho.
This is very cute, but it suffers from some problems irt the platformer physics just generally - as some people have pointed out, the slipperiness of the game hurts it in the way that it requires a lot of precision with very unprecise controls. I would suggest you look up more advanced platformer controller techniques (as illustrated in things like the playable GMTK platformer essay) so that this project, which feels like it has potential to be something much better, can benefit from it!
Hi aTwigAnd2Stones,
That was a really cute platformer game, liked the idea of unlocking your abilities as you go! :)
Managed to beat it with a couple deaths, my only minor complaint is that the character controller is a little bit "icy" so it takes some time to get used to.
Great entry overall, congrats!
Very cute game, as melo_toni said. Myself, it reminds me of Mr. Gimmick!
Managed to beat the game after a few tries, but I agree there were some cheap deaths. Nothing major because of the checkpoints, gladly. Still, it was fun to play!
Nice work! Very cute character design, reminds me of kirby. I managed to get all the little ball things B)
The controls felt overly sensitive especially while trying to do more precise movements. I think the character has very slippery movement because it's a ball, but in that case, I would design the levels with that in mind. Overall a fun experience!
Excluding exactly one room, I found the dash move seems rather useless when you can cover the same distance much more safely with double jumping and the rather long coyote times the game offers. There were also some unfair obstacles hidden behind screen transitions.
Made it to the end! Score was 25850. Those little pellets were so satisfying to get.
Great game. Extremely challenging, but for me personally, it hit that perfect curve of being difficult, but achievable. Really loved the art and the controls were very good. Nice job!
Got the second book before giving up because my hand was hurting too much from the try hard loool. The typo for the title made me think of Dragon Ball's one xD I don't know if it was on purpose but I found it was fun.
