I really liked this game : a good concept, well made (nice work on 2D Light), the player is guided (but not too much) and the visuals are nice. Good job.

This game only has one flaw! It ends very quickly! ;-;

Very fun, congrats!

This is pretty nice! I think you use the theme well, better than I was expecting at first. The introduction of the focused light was a really nice touch. The game is very short, but what was there was working for me!

Really nice game, minimalistic with a sharp interpretation of the theme.

I liked the mechanic you implemented with the spotlight, how did you make the wall appear and disappear?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Made a custom Tilemap node that had a reference to the active player which my tile scenes use to check for the spotlight. not sure if that was really the best approach ๐Ÿ˜…

Really cool concept. I liked it alot.

Developer

Thank you so much. Glad you enjoyed it!

Strangely enough, I haven't seen anybody use focused vs. general lighting yet as a mechanic. However, I must concur with previous commenters. "Don't look behind you" is a softlock, and the focused light is far superior to the general light.

Learn from this, and come back in January!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Balancing mechanic would is definitely something Iโ€™ll keep in mind next Jam ๐Ÿ˜…

Very cool demo, I did get softlocked near the end because my character started teleporting wildly around the screen after dying in the "Dont look behind you" section

Developer

Thanks for playing! I was thinking the change in camera would help in the scary aspect of the level, but it does result to making resets disorientating ๐Ÿ˜…

Pretty interesting little demo. Ended too soon though :(

Developer

Started late and was short for time ๐Ÿ˜…. Thanks for playing!

Nice and Simple, I like the slight horror theming that's present here.

Only real complaint is that I think the main radial player light should be a tiny bit bigger, found myself using the cone non-stop once I got it, only switching back when required to open the walls.

Developer

Thanks for the review! It definitely needs more tweaking as it ties to more mechanics in the game ๐Ÿ˜
