Love the animation and look of the game. I didn't mind the slippery movement, but the spike hitboxes could have been a bit smaller.

Probably one of my favorite entries so far. Simple, but so effective. I just couldn't quit playing until I beat it, haha.

I had a little trouble distinguishing between the pits and the ground, which made some of the game more trial and error than anything.

But, to be honest, I really don't have much in terms of feedback for this. I love the art; the difficulty felt about right for me; excellent work overall.

Thank you so much! I did think that but was a bit burnt out towards the end and only wanted to do what was necessary lmao. I'm glad you like it and found the difficulty right, I actually couldn't finish it myself but I'm not the best at platformers. We are both illustration students trying games out for the first time and can actually use this for our course, so getting the art right was one of the biggest parts aside having a working game.

Really enjoyed this one! It was quite difficult and the count down added a lot of tension. I was able to get to the end of the game. I love how you had different art for dying from the flames versus running out of time. I loved how tall the vampire was too. Great job on your first GWJ entry. Was really fun!

Thank you! We are both illustrators so there was a lot of attention to detail on that part, especially considering its our favourite part of the games we play. :)

Took me a bit to figure out I could double-jump which helped, but I found the slipperiness of the player movement frustrating, especially since there didn’t seem to be a reason for it (e.g. ice or something similar).

I liked the concept though, and the art and audio were both solid. Nice job!

We wanted him to be quite fast because he's a vampire - but I agree the slipperiness was a bit much (we did already bring it down a bunch). The thinking was that we didn't want it to be too easy, as we weren't sure we would be able to make multiple levels since it's our first game (and we were right). Thank you for the feedback though, we will add a controls menu next time

Fun game! I don't know why but I found it hilarious on the death screen. The time window for victory was narrower than I expected, but was still manageable.

Developer

Thank you! we wanted to make it challenging because we didn't think we would have time for more levels - needed to make the one long enough and difficult enough to be entertaining. We did have a lot of fun with both the death screen and the jumping animations

This was a fun and challenging platformer. I really love the art style and Count Snoozeau. I sat and waited to see what would happen after 30 seconds and enjoyed seeing the scenery brighten as the sun rose.
The controls were difficult for me to get a handle on. The Count's movement and momentum are really slippery and hard to control. It was also difficult for me to tell when I had a second jump. Maybe an additional sound effect would help that.
Really enjoyed the theme on this one! Our games shares a very similar one :)
Great work!

we did initially have the movement more slippery - and lowered it a significant amount to be playable, although I still agree that its too slippery. would've been an easy fix but never mind. the second sound effect is a good shout aswell! thank you :)
