Very impressive and fun game especially as this was some of your first GWJ.

Really liked the graphics and music. Sound was ok but seemed a little lacking at times but got the job done.

Controls were a little hard to manage at times but honestly not sure how you could have improved them.

Overall it was a great submission and a lot of fun, thank you all!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! We would have loved to incorporate more sound design. Out of pure interest, were you using a keyboard or controller? Thank you so much for playing!

keyboard, and completely understand the time limits

Really cool game! I love the art and the theme. I struggled a bit with receiving Sun damage by 1 pixel but it was entertaining to look for the blood bags (got the first one in the first try haha). I liked how the bat places above the umbrellas to mark when to interact with them.

Developer

Thanks for playing. The big takeaway is that the sun exposure is a little too unforgiving. It's really good feedback and we appreciate you playing!

That game is super pretty and the mechanic is simple but works really well. I now know I wouldn't survive 2 minutes as a vampire ... Really cool entry !

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the sun is unforgiving! The exposure/death is definitely something we could tweak. given more time. Thanks for playing!

Oh man, I love that we had similar game concepts. Funny enough, half-way through our project, we wished we had done it in 3D. I would love to know how you guys handled the shadows, from what I can tell it looks like they were handled with simple shapes rather than the actual shadows being cast.

The level design was really well done, short and sweet puzzles. Pacing was also well done. Art and music felt very cohesive. Felt like Hotel Transylvania might have been an inspiration. Scene transitions were handled well. I feel like the only thing that could’ve used more work were the UX elements like the ‘health’, menu and end credits.

Great work everyone!

Developer

Would have loved to have had the time to fix up the UI elements, but I was the only artist and really had my work cut out for me as it was. There were a few things that never made it in and, had I known at the time I was making them, I would have saved that time to spiff up the menus. Thanks for playing!

Nice game. Reminded me a bit on V-Rising with the difference I die very fast here. The art is super clean and the controls went really smooth. I only would like a free-rotation camera to better see where I can go since the rotating alone was not helpful on all situations. Good job to the great team effort and result you have brought up here!

Developer

Thank you! The camera is definitely something we could have tweaked with more time. Luckily it doesn't seem to hinder anyone's progress, but this is great feedback. Thanks again!

Great work, really like the arts, it fit the game style soo much ! Really like this entry !

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

Very nice game! The artstyle is captivating and the controls feel very smooth. I liked how you managed to use the shadows, but sometimes it felt that the vampire died to fast. The addition of collectables was neat, and the level design enjoyable. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah the exposure to the sun is definitely something we could have continued to tweak with more time. Glad you enjoyed the collectibles. It was suggestion from one of our team near the end of the jam and we're really glad we were able to integrate them.

This was a well thought out game! Awesome job getting this done in 9 days!

Developer

Really appreciate it and thank you for playing!

This was really neat! I feel like you explored this idea in a lot of solid ways. I especially like the palm trees. Great work!

Developer

Thank you! The Palm Tree level is one of our favorites.

This is a pretty cool game. I love the idea! The graphics fit the style of the game perfectly. I just wish it was a bit easier 😅

Developer

what part did you have the most trouble with. We'd love some feedback. Our intention was to limit the difficulty to make it approachable but there are defiantly some sections that are trickier than others.

There was a graveyard part where clouds were flying over. I could hide behind some of the tombstones but not all. It was very difficult to find a safe spot.

Then, I was brought to an area with umbrellas and a pool. The sun meter fills pretty quickly and there is almost no time to react if you move into the sun. While trying to get close enough to the umbrella to interact with it, 3/5 times the sun would kill me as I was short. Maybe showing that an object is in range would help.

I jumped in the water to get the blood thing but then couldn’t get out no matter how hard I tried and just succumbed to the sun.

Bottom line: the sun meter fills up way too fast in my opinion. Doesn’t give the player much time to recover.

Another vampire game! Really love this entry. The art style was really cool. Loved the 3D pixelated look. The vampire was very cute. The game mechanic was really cool too and you had a lot of very clever levels. Overall a fantastic game. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! It's been fun to see how many vampire projects came out of this jam :)

NOICE!! This was quite fun, loved the game concept and the aesthetics were just super enjoyable.

Developer

Thank you! We had a lot of fun making the 3D Pixel aesthetic.

I loved the graphics. The game is very on theme. I would love to know if you did navmesh/collisions for the light detection or if you used a light detection method similar to what we did for our entry. We ended up reading the light data from a subviewport texture that was a layer for light data only! Had a great time playing a game using the same style mechanic!

You entry was very well put together and fun to play, nice job! I only got 4 of the 6 blood bags though!

Developer

We ended up just using a few ray casts to do the light detection. It worked a treat and we could do some fudging to make some things a little more forgiving. We thought about using the actual light data like you did but the look dev for this game was all done this week as well so we were a little stretched there. thanks for playing

Submitted

Ah ok that makes sense! It was well done for sure! Always fun to see what we can do with a weeks time!

Submitted

cool game, I wish I could go back to previous levels if I missed a blood bag

Developer

the blood bags save between playthroughs but yeah a level select would have helped so you didn't need to complete the whole game again. Thanks for playing

Great art style! Personally I think the time after the death should be longer. I would love to appreciate the death animation a bit further.

Developer

It was on our todo list just ran out of time :) thanks for playing!

Very fun! I like the puzzle design, and I the graphics have a lot of charm!

Nice art. Rather interesting sound design (the dracula literally coughs and dies in the sun)

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, we had fun figuring out the sound design. Wish we had time to add more!

Great job, I got home with 5 blood bags, may go back to find the other one

Developer

Thank you so much!
