The art and music in this game are super cute! I love that the frog's eye's follow the cursor. Other comments have mentioned the physics stuff so I'll just say that the mechanic of picking up and throwing objects was really well done! There's just not a lot of space to use it effectively. Good job!
Wow, nice idea! The audio is quite nice, but sadly I've had some problems with the blocks clipping in the wall or in eachother. When everything worked tough, the gameplay was fine and it was fun to search for the right way to climb. Also, the leaderboard idea is solid for a game of this genre. Congrats, very creative!
I got a good chuckle when I got squished by the 3x3 block. Froggo stood no chance haha. Cute game! Thanks for sharing!
Getting good chuckles is my real goal.
Haha, very cute and the tunes were great! I tried to hide in a hole and really did get blocked in :)
Haha, happened several times in testing too. Thanks for playing!
Cute and fun!
No you.
Really interesting mashup of games. Love the arcade style with the leaderboard and everything. Music and sound effects were solid.
Gameplay-wise, I liked the idea but I was just dying constantly without really getting anywhere. I don’t know if trying to move the blocks around was helping or hurting me half the time, ha ha.
Nice job!
Yeah, I liked the concept more than I did my execution of it. I messed around a lot trying to balance it, but finally had to quit if I was going to get anything else done, haha. Appreciate the feedback!
What a fun mechanic :) The objects behave a bit weird, so I never got really far, but the concept is pretty neat :)
Yeah, it's quite difficult to get too far, both because of some of the physics jank and balance issues. Glad you could sorta get what I was going for conceptually and mechanically nonetheless!
Awesome game! Love seeing a leaderboard. :) The frog was super cute, and I liked the story and how it fit the theme. The physics were a little janky, but I was still able to have fun. Great job on your first GWJ entry!! :)
Jank is all I know. Thanks for playing!
Nice idea, but just didn't quite get it.
Are you supposed to complete rows or just climb?
Just climb! Sorry, game definitely could have used some instructions, if not in game then at least on the page.
I see. You can edit the page description, just not upload new version of the game.
Ive had a nice and a little frustrating experience! Leaderboard is a nice touch, it added a little comp and make my little monkey brain play it more than a few times to get into a history.
Cant really add something new that wasnt been said before, so... Ggs!
Nice and a little frustrating sounds about right, to be honest, haha. I'm happy to have kept your monkey brain interested. Thanks for playing!
Great game, I love the concept of the Tetris ladder.
As it was said the clipping can get out of control but is somehow fun at the same time.
A bit too much unforgiving to me, but that's to everyone's preference.
Great game overall, simple yet catchy, great work.
Glad you enjoyed it! I like that you see some fun in the game's jankiness, but it's definitely sometimes just frustrating. And you are definitely right that there are some balance issues; the game gets pretty difficult very fast. Thanks so much for taking the time to play and comment!
A great concept and a great executiong, some bugs here and there with wall clipping but the game is very original.
Really great work.
Yeah, unfortunately the wall clipping can get pretty out of control. Glad you could see past some of that messiness, haha!
really cool game just a few nitpicks.
jump felt a little too large.
a few to many glitches where I clipped into the ground.
I really wish it told me the block before it fell.
but all really good game with a few laughs and a great idea
My brother (er, I mean, playtester) kept saying I needed to tell you the block before it fell, and like an idiot I didn't listen. And yeah, the clipping into the ground can be pretty terrible. But most of those bugs are really just part of the games indie game charm, right? Haha.
Seriously though, I really appreciate you playing and leaving feedback!
Tetris endless jumper. What a great concept! Nicely done.
Tetris endless jumper! Thanks for playing!
Loved it. Best game I've seen this jam. (at least so far)
So glad you liked it. I take it this is the only entry you've played?
No I've player around 10 games. But this fitted my preference best.
Haha, sorry, it was a joke. I really do appreciate that I could make something you liked!
Nice game, I really like the polish !
I found that the difficulty varied greatly from one run to the next, maybe the spawning rate of blocks could have sped up with the time spent in the run, to smooth the difficulty at the start ? Great little game anyway !
Yeah, the difficulty can be sort of all over the place unfortunately. The block spawning does speed up as you go higher, but it's definitely possible (probable) that all of that could use more balancing. I would have also liked to change the frequency with which you get certain block shapes too, which I think would have also helped (for example, getting a bunch of the one little block can make a run nearly impossible).
Glad you enjoyed it anyway! Thanks so much for taking the time to play and leave feedback!
This was lots of fun, I love the take on the theme and the leader board idea! Loved seeing something so simple have such a fun game loop!
Glad you enjoyed it! I wanted to give the online leaderboard a try because I've never done something like that before. Probably wasn't the best idea; I was up very late yesterday (or, early this morning) finishing that up, haha. But I'm happy to have got it working!
This game includes an online leaderboard, and I've played a few times since finishing it and left my scores under the name "NOT." See if you can beat me!
