I love underwater games (mine's one too). And especially simulators. Simple and fun idea, controls are good as wel. Maybe some ambience coudl go in to feel the thalassophobia more.

This is a lot of fun! That said, it took quite a while for me to figure out that the glowy coral was a type of treasure, and the sub controls caught me off guard when I realized that Q/E rose and sank on global coordinates instead of basis coordinates. The sharks were a pleasant surprise and a really nice touch.

Loved how atmospheric this one was, I felt the way the sub controlled actually helped with this! That's probably an aspect you could emphasise more. I do wish there was a better way to fend off the sharks, that or some way to regain lost health. Overall, I enjoyed exploring the depths!

This game is really impressive, I had a lot of fun with it! Great sound design, nice tutorial, and the gameplay was simple but engaging and intuitive. Awesome job!

Nice game. I was an alpha-tester and here is my review:

Things I liked:

1) holding shift to engage fast mode

2) Sound effects paired nicely with animations; immersive experience.

3) cool mini-map.

4) Screen cracking when low hp.

Things I didn't like:

1) finding gold is hard. This is the last resource I fill up on before finishing the game.

2) not having a flare when a shark is chasing me (serves me right for shooting my flares for fun).

3) dying because I bump into a mountain when I'm low hp (serves me right for bumping into mountains left and right when I'm high hp).

4) The screen rotates strangely when I turn my camera all the way down or all the way up. Awkward during a shark attack.

Tips:

1) Shoot a flare horizontally across the sand and look for glints to find pearls fast. Also works for gold.

2) When you have sharks coming in at you from all angles, press E with shift to go up fast, then go to another part of the map or wait for your flare to recharge.

3) Try the game while holding shift all the time for extra challenge. It's hard!

Absolutely incredible. Very impressive that you pulled this of within 9 days!

This is awesome. Very unique cinematic intro and cool design. The sub is a little hard to control and a pause function would be good. Great entry.

Developer

Thanks for the review!

I was going to put in a pause function with the controls displayed on it, but then I ran out of time. Will put it in the post-jam version.

I like to see original games like this

Love this! Reminds me a lot of Subnautica collecting resources on the bottom. It's awesome that this works in the browser as well!

Developer(+1)

Looked up Subnautica and realized that I've seen it before. Actually, while developing it, I was afraid I might be making it too similar to Deep Rock Galactic!

Nice! It's fairly challenging but very fun

WOW! 3D in browser is impressive. It's fun, but I had a hard time controlling the submarine, and the number of shark was overwhelming... But it's a good time with a great ambiance

Developer

Thanks for playing!

One of my alpha testers wanted fewer sharks, too! :O Might try making less sharks, the lower the rate of the player's score increase, to auto adjust difficulty.

Originally, I didn't intend it to work on the browser, but then I realized that I had to either export it to Windows, Mac, and Linux, or export it to the web. And as I don't own a Mac, I wasn't able to export to Mac. So I had to go with the latter option.

Woah, just realized I made a typo in the How does your game tie into the theme? Entry! Sorry 'bout that. (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
