Played through your game on stream. Have the vod below timestamped to your game if you wanted to watch me go through it

Overall a nice learning tool. I already know basic japanese but can see it being really useful if I was just starting out with learning the japanese alphabets. One way to help people learn a bit more would be forcing them to choose at least a certain amount of each character in a row so people can't hone in on one character in the row and only end up learning that one

Developer

Thanks for sharing your stream! I'll take your comments into account

Nice educational game! Though I know no japanese at all, I see how it can be very useful for memorizing the alphabet in a fun way.

Developer

Pleased to hear that!

really cool idea. unfortunately i know zero Japanese :D - maybe a intro / tutorial level for people new to the language could help?

Developer

Thank you! I have a few suggestions like yours from my friends, who tested this game for me :p

I'll definitely consider making these enhancements once the jam is over.

Japanese learner here, thanks for this little learning game. Would love to see more of this, as it gets a little repetitive after some time. Which is obviously ok for a jam game. Keep on coding!

Developer

Thank you! I will!

Interesting take on the theme (aVoid). Would be a useful tool to learn a character-heavy language! A few example tries for each alphabet at the start of each round might help ease someone without any background of Japanese in.

Developer

I'm so glad you've played my game, and thank you for the advice!

Super neat idea as a study tool. I took Japanese in high school and forgot almost all of it unfortunately. This was a nice way to refresh my katakana knowledge!

Developer

I'm so pleased to hear that!

I would love to have the voice so with the letters ! That would improve it a lot! I honestly found it very fast, as someone who never learned this language, and it would've been awesome to have a slow learning curve into it, I have been overwhelmed with new information too quickly !

thanks for the original idea !

I would love to hear what you think about my game when you have the time !

Your suggestions are really helpful! I will try to add them to my game after the voting time ends. Or maybe make a new game with them in mind.

Btw, I liked your game very much :)

Love the idea,  my brother is learning Japanese gotta show this to him!

Thank you! I made this game specifically for my fellow Japanese learners. I hope it will be of some help.

P.S. Why did my avatar get turned into stone? :D

This is actually pretty handy as a study tool. It would be cool if you could add hiragana and then maybe a kanji system to it too.

Thank you! My students tend to have problems with katakana, so I made a game for Japanese learners to train it. Since this is just a beginning of my gamedev journey, I would be happy to develop this game further or introduce new better ones in the future.
