I liked it, the graphics look pretty well done and the story is pretty fun. Although I did get stuck where it asks you share or eat all the bananas.
Is it a bug? Or is it the end of this version of the game?
Loved the music and the sprites but I didn't get what was happening. Getting old too, it was hard to mash action fast enough to pull up the tree.
I liked it. Visuals are cute. Probably the best soundtrack of all games in this jam. The story is fine, but there were a couple of grammatical errors in the text.
Also, I didn't quite at the start get who is who - who is pagong and who is the other one. Would be nice to have it clearly stated.
Now, when I reached the banana tree and monkey climbed there, nothing progressed farther. No matter which option I would choose, they would just repeat themselves. So no ending. Not sure if there is an ending and a way to get past this.
Also, in the main menu, to start the game you need to click start button. BUT. It isn't clickable when you point in the middle of it. Only when you point at the edge of the button it is clickable.
Here's an image of where I was stuck
The visuals are really cute and I enjoyed your telling of the story! Although I couldn't reach the ending. As others have said, I seemed to be softlocked after the monkey climbs the tree. I picked both sharing dialogue choices, for reference. When it switches back to the turtle I interact with the tree and just get locked in place, no dialogue or anything.
In addition to that I would fix the tree-pulling scene so you don't have to mash so much. I takes a really long time and it's noisy if you have a mechanical keyboard like mine lol
Overall a solid start though, nice work!
I got locked out of progressing after the tree climb and selecting to share the bananas. During the second playthrough I was locked after selecting greedy option; the camera seemed to leave the bounds of the playable area, showing me a half sprite and half default godot editor background.
I love the vibe of the game overall, otherwise. The visuals are consistent and cute, the soundtrack doesn't get annoying on repeat listens.
As far as gameplay goes...there isn't much to speak of, and I honestly almost broke my $20 dollar keyboard pulling that tree out of the ground. Then again, ripping a tree out roots and all shouldn't be easy, huh?
Overall there was a lot of work left to be done here, and I unfortunately wasn't able to finish the game. It's a great effort, though, and very well done for submitting to your first jam. Just pushing that SUBMIT button for the first time is intimidating, well done! Thanks for giving us a game to play!
Yeah, I unfortunately didn't have time because I did school stuff so I missed some bugs. Even I had trouble pulling the tree so I get you lol! There's 2 endings to it but I hope I can make this better next time and I'll try to make more gameplay! Thank you for your feedback!
Noticed a few bugs (you can go infinitely off screen as the turtle, I couldn't advance after the monkey climbed the tree - the dialogue options just kept repeating) but I thought the art and concept were cute!
Thanks for playing merunicorn! Yeah, I'm still confused with using layers so some of the walls only affected the monkey, and I think when the space is pressed it repeats the dialog! Thank you for your feedback!
I ran into a few bugs, one of which I think broke the game. The turtle was stuck at the bottom of the banana tree after the monkey climbed up. Overall I enjoyed the concept. The dialog continued past an option when I thought I was just clicking to the next dialog, or I lost a chance to make a choice so not sure what options I missed.
Hey! thanks for playing! I forgot to stop the controlling of Pagong when it entered the next scene, I'll take note of that, and I only started using the dialog system for this jam so I'm still not aware of what bugs it could do. Thank you for your feedback.
Was the majestic song made by you? Few bugs here and there but fun ideas!
