Definitely would love to see more of this, it has a ton of potential.

Pros:

  • Once I understood more of the aspects of the game, it was pretty easy to keep up with.
  • Controls were super simple
  • Music was very entertaining for this game and not too loud.
  • Loved the sails billowing in the wind. Very cute
  • Fun Artwork

Critiques:

  • Starting a new game from the menu continued where I left off at a higher level, I had to refresh the entire page to get back to level 1
  • Would be nice to have audio adjustment
  • Some more ambient sounds or monster sound would go a long way to add impressiveness
  • In the shop or somewhere on the screen it would be nice to know what level your upgrades are currently at

I would LOVE to see this updated, the idea is great and the loop really got me hooked!  I can imagine sinking a lot of time into it.  I didn't do well because I'm a little wet behind the ears.  The requirement ramp is way too much/the upgrade path too strict.  I played 10 times before it was smooth sailing.

  • Some other issues:
You can try to click to collect right as time goes out and accidentally buy an upgrade
  • Click to collect was finicky sometimes, I had to click a couple times
  • Upgrade count could show "-1 left"

Despite the issues, I had way too much fun on this one, nice work!

Good mechanic once you realize the light will make the boats go faster. I was just swinging the light around at start :D

It gets harder to get past the level. maybe add the bank in a way if you can't get past a level and need to repeat it, you would cumulate some amount of money from previous tries, so it doesn't become impossible because chosen upgrades are not enough from previous levels.

I feel like to win you have to get the upgrades in a particular order to deal with the requirements going up so quickly. Do the boats go faster in the light.. It looked like it to me but I was not sure?

Good game, congrats! I just think the requirement increases too much, while the number of ships remains basically the same. Just a little balancing and the game should be even better. :)

This is a really cool concept, I think it gets a little repetitive but I definitely enjoyed it!

Cool game, I found you could cheese it by just swinging the mouse around constantly as it insta-kills the krakens

Nice work :)
