Game Description
Paranormal Presence is a fun, lighthearted first-person game created during the Godot Wild Jam 2024 by a small team of five. In this game, you play as a ghost trying to scare the residents of a house into leaving by interacting with objects placed around the house, while avoiding an exorcist who is investigating the strange events. The goal is to clear the house of its inhabitants before the exorcist catches you. With its simple mechanics and spooky theme, Paranormal Presence is a playful experiment in game design, showcasing what can be done in a short development time.

How does your game tie into the theme?
We thought a haunted house has been done many times before so we decided to flip that logic and make you the ghost. You are in charge of doing the haunting yourself and getting the inhabitants to leave the house using mehtods that ghosts normally do?

You wouldn't believe me if I told you that we had brainstormed a similar idea, where you play the ghost and scare tenants, and it's great to see the idea brought to life in this way! Ours would have been simple 2D pixel art, not this awesome 2D-in-3D look you guys have delivered here. And it sounds good, too. Quite impressive!

Very unique and I haven't played anything quite like this before.  I thought it would work on a controller but the right stick doesn't control properly.  Mouse feels a lot better.  Thanks for making this game easy to beat and I enjoyed the experience more-so.  The priest did damage me quite a bit which kept me on my toes but I was dodging around him like a master.  I like that the bottles don't go through walls, make sense!  Nice work.

Thanks for taking the time to play and comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
So that I can fix controller issues in future games can you let me know which operating system and controller you were trying to use?

I liked the way all the characters looked, especially the Exorcist. I also really liked the sprite of the body of the player in the fridge. Overall the gameplay was fun, although it took me a really long time to scare everyone out of the house so towards the end it was a little repetitive. It's a neat concept though and fits the theme and pursuer wildcard very well. Good job!

really cool little game to play fits well with the theme could be a interesting game to expand upon, I would have liked it to be a bit clearer what you can interact with although figuring this out is easy enough.

I really liked the 2D sprites in the 3D environment, some day I'll try to attempt something similar. There were a lot of stuff to interact with, which is good. It took a ridiculously long time for me to recognize that I can pass through walls, but that's on me :)

I couldn't figure out how to win though, I guess the red bars above the people were some kind of haunt-o-meter, but it seemed to increase really slow even when it felt like I was hitting them with the best scares one after the other.

Thanks for checking it out.  I think your feedback is totally fair.  Given more time, it would have been nice to fine-tune how much "scare" it takes to get the NPC's to leave the house.

It's funny that most people I've seen play our game will walk through the doorways.   I think its our natural instinct since we are not ghosts!  I included a line in the intro text that you can "pass through most things" but its fun to see people discover this on their own and say "oh ofcourse".  Try taking a plate/bottle through a wall ;)

I liked the idea and the art for the characters. Good Job.
