Game Description
You explore your late aunt's house, repair and sell furniture. However, Aunt Gertie has never been the silent type...
How does your game tie into the theme?
The house is still haunted by Aunt Gertie's ghost. Also a pun.

short and sweet. theme was well implemented, the dialogue was funny, and the art and sfx had a charm to it, like something off adult swim lol. the mini games were fun and i would've loved to see more of them. my only complaint is that this game was a little on the shorter side, but overall this stands out amongst the other entries. well done!
Sorry for the late reply and thank you foryour feedback, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'll give the game a bit of a rest then I plan to extend it with some more content.
Going to be honest, I very much enjoyed the concept but my left mouse button has some complaints about the gameplay. And while the game was short enough that it didn't really matter, I suspect the slow walking speed would have gotten annoying in a longer version. Don't get me wrong though, I had a good time :]
Thank you for the feedback, by the way, if you prefer to destroy your keyboard instead, you can also smash R repeatedly during repair. The walking speed is a good point, I'll keep that in mind if I decide to expand the game later. Maybe make it an upgrade you can give yourself from planks, like a crutch or something.
Cool concept, I wish there was more! I couldn't get the "REPLY" feature to ever work, a shame because the little bits of dialogue were fun. Having minigames for each action is such a charming concept, and are a big part of why I want more of this game. I feel like there is a whole world waiting to be explored with that one mechanic alone. The idea of linking actions to the key of the highlighted letter in the word is neat, but I think it lends to some awkward gameplay, where I'm stretching my finger over to "g" to gather something, when "e" is unused. Cool and unique, but ultimately I think it hinders gameplay. This could be a cool base for a management game, like a House Flipper or something like that. Love it!
Thank you, I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the minigames, that was a substantial part of the design, to provide options for different kind of interactions. Unfortunately the REPLY feature does not work some people, I guess it's input-related, I'll have to look into it post-jam. Good point on the hotkeys, I might rework that system as well if I decide to expand on the game.
Your post-jam update fixed the reply issue, I can now hit "Y" and see the dialogue. Congrats on 13th place!
Thank you, for the feedback as well!
This was cute, love the little quips of dialogue!
Thank you, I'm happy you enjoyed the writing!
Very cute little game:) I liked the graphics and especially the walking animation. The speaking sound of the aunt was really funny too.
Personally I couldn't finish reading the texts from speech bubbles in time so I think adding more time or allowing the player to skip through them would be a good idea.
Thank you, since I'm not skilled in animation, it was just alternating the rotation of the sprite between -15 and +15 degrees or something. I had much fun recording the voices.
That's a great suggestion, I'll probably fix it after the jam.
Congratulations on your first wild jam submission! I really like the humor here. And the way you showed the controls was also very smart.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! UI/UX was probably the weakest part of our previous jam game and I really wanted to get better at it. Honestly, that was done in Unity, and I have to say, Godot handles UI so much better.
The mini games seemed cool but the game felt very short overall. I wish it had lasted a bit longer. I really like the visuals and audio in this game though they blend well together! I really love how you can navigate through all menus and play the game with just your keyboard!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is quite short, unfortunately I had to really limit the content (rooms, objects) in order to finish the features (most importantly, the three minigames) and make sure that all the components worked well together. Providing multiple ways to interact (mouse, keyboard) was an important part of this.
This game is so cute! Incredibly weird in a most positive way. Exactly my kind of humor!
Thank you, that's what I was aiming for, and after playing your game I can see the similarities in tone and mood.
Really liked the game. Followed your progress in the gwj works in progress channel on discord and every time you posted it looked very polished. Really like the hand drawn artstyle and the dialogue. Did manage to "break" the repair minigame by both clicking on the plank and tapping R at the same time, allowing me to always get the max amount of repairs done. Overall very nice game, especially for your first GWJ.
Haha, I love how people find stuff you don't even think about. Thank you for playing it, glad you enjoyed it!
I liked the different minigames you had for the items, the sfx were great, and the hand drawn artstyle is pretty cool. Game felt a bit short, but mechanics were polished. For a first game jam, this is very solid work!
Thank you for playing it and providing feedback! Yes, unfortunately I had to cut down on the content to make all the features / minigames fit in, maybe I'll expand it post-jam.
The sound design is so well done in this one!
I liked the freedom the player has to decide the best course of action, the first time I played I just sold everything to see where I would get. Then I tried again playing more calmly and testing the depth of the game.
Special mention for the grandma SFX 😁
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! While the game is quite short, one of my main goals was to make it interesting by providing a choice to players. I'll probably expand on the content after the jam.
Interesting game idea! I like the dialogue audio and the comment that the aunt makes. The UI and different mechanics for the actions that can be performed on the furniture gave a lot of avenues for replayability and approaches to getting a higher score.
Thank you for playing the game on your stream, the detailed feedback and the great suggestions!
It's a very nice play on the word haunted and an interesting game, the voice of the aunt is TOP TIER and the art is very nice, I kind of forgot I was playing to rate the game as it was really fun and well polished for such a time constricted project! Very well done to you it has great potential, was kind of sad when it was done, I wanted more.
Thank you, it was fun to record that and the player voice line as well. I have some stuff that I'll have to fix post-jam and after that I will probably expand the content a bit, because I had to cut it down a lot.
Really liked the audio design and the voices sfx in this one. Felt a bit short but all the mechanics felt polished and I really liked the way a timed event was implemented for scrapping items- I found that mechanic very unique.
Thank you, I definitely had fun recording the silly audio. The project involved a lot of experimentation with concepts, techniques and the engine itself, you whenever I had to cut scope, it came off from content like objects and rooms so I can have the features like the three minigames in place.
Foremostly, I really enjoyed the art. It reminded me of a David Firth animation or something, and I half expected something macabre to happen because of that! The gameplay was very original but a bit lacklustre honestly (for my taste). The game felt very solid and polished overall, I didn’t experience any bugs or anything weird! You made great use of the theme as well as all of the wildcards! Congrats on a really solid first GWJ submission! :D
Thank you for the feedback, I'm glad you liked the art. I loved Salad Fingers, good to know about this association! The whole project involved a lot of experimentation with different concepts and techniques, so I agree that there wasn't much content in the end, it all can be finished in a couple of minutes. Learned a lot during the process, though.
Beautiful main menu and artstyle! I like the story.
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
I love the quirky name, and you captured every auntie I've ever known perfectly. At first, I wasn't feeling the artstyle. However, it quickly grew on me along with the fun little mechanics. Good job!
Thank you, I'm glad that the character and the atmosphere was working as intended. Due to the time constraints, all of the art in the game is little more than a quick first-time sketch that became final, but it was appropriate for the mood.
Simple but effective idea off a funny wordplay bit. The audio and art were awesome, especially the Aunt's talking sounds. I like the implication that she is just lying through her teeth about all the furniture and the house. Feel like a lot of us have relatives like that, lol.
I agree with Chipper that it wasn't clear when to leave the house, but I didn't really mind.
Great job :)
Thank you, it's nice to hear people liked the art because I consider myself more of a programmer and it's the first time that I tried this.
The game end is probably the lowest hanging improvement area for the game, so I'll definitely update that after the jam.
I like the name its funny lol. The main menu screen animations are cool! The talking sound is so funny lol. Very interesting set of mechanics and the art style adds to the comedic value hehe. I mostly just hit sell cause I don’t like button mashing personally lol. I got a high score of 346! A funny little experience with a lot of charm. Great work!
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! I'm happy that I managed to hit the intended comedic spot. Once I had the title, everything else just came naturally. I wanted to include different minigames party because I needed the practice, but also to cater to various preferences.
Really cool game! I especially loved the artstyle, sound effects and humor were the best part.
Thank you, I really appreciate it, this was the first time I tried to do everything myself. To be fair, some of the SFX are just downloaded, but the voices are all me.
