I really like the fact that the ghost slows down the closer it is.

Fun game, I enjoyed having to work out what to do next, added a bit of peril as the ghost got closer. The UI needs some work, I'd start with the pause menu visible but the game playing and would have to refresh to restart. Well done

Fun little game, I agree with most suggestions that vpeter1119 made, except the color coded items. They already seemed to be color coded. I do hard agree with the rebindable keys. I prefer using WASD (or at least my regional equivalent) over the arrow keys and Z to pick up items didn't work for me, turns out I had to use W for this, probably because I have an azerty keyboard and not a qwerty one.

So, I agree with what vpeter1119 said. That includes that it is a fun puzzle game. I liked the process of figuring it out. Unfortunately, I had to refresh my browser each time I died. Could be web export being weird, or it could be quitting the game on exit? Might be a speed run feature? Regardless, the idea was good. A little more polish post-jam would be cool. I also think your pixel art ghost fit the style while still looking creepy! Making pixel art unnerving can be hard.

Hi there, it was a fun little game, took me some time to learn how to get some distance between me and the ghost and what areas to avoid. The visual style is simple, but it was always easy to identify what I can interact with.

Some suggestions for improvements:

  • When I start the game in the browser, it always starts with the pause panel open for me but the ghost catches up and kills me. I figured out that I have to press ESC twice (wasn't on full screen either, so that's not it).
  • Configurable controls or at least alternative controls (like WASD instead of the arrow keys) would greatly improve accessibility.
  • At times I was unsure what items I gathered and there I could use them. This could be remedied with some icons of the items you have and maybe color coding them to match objects where they are needed?

Overall, congrats on finishing it!

Very cool! Funny movement, and clever concept. It took me a bit to figure out what I was supposed to do with the items, but fun game!
