I like the art and general UI, but i think it gets a bit too difficult too fast, but that might be on me haha. I think I’ve seen the font before, which one is that, I really would like to use that in a future project. It’s kind of sad you don‘t have sound but the gameplay isn’t affected by that. Good work!

Developer(+1)

Haha, no, it's not just you, I struggled with it sometimes too haha.
The font is Memo, from somepx: https://somepx.itch.io/pixel-font-memo
And I agree, I would've wanted to add sound to it, but no time unfortunately.
Thank you for playing!

Simple yet fun game. I liked it :)

Developer

Thank you!

Really enjoyed the simple palette used and lovely emotive spritework! But wow, as soon as the whole grid got unlocked, it became really challenging. Less of a memory game, more of an I-hope-I-saw-the-correct-image game. I nearly made it all the way to the end, but landed just short of the last level.

Developer

Thank you! I know the feeling, even while I was testing it, I won some games by sheer luck haha.

dude... this was impossible for me. lol. It was super fun to try it though. I also liked the sprites, the entire game does a lot with a little. Nice work! Congrats on the submission.

Developer

Haha yeah, I can see how it can be difficult for some players. Maybe different difficulty options would help!

I agree with the previous comment - the sprite-work is super charming :) I was surprised by how well my peripheral vision was - I thought I would do way worse on the game than I actually did.

I was a bit unsure what the diamonds on the bottom were supposed to show though - is it some sort of global progression tracker (since they remained 'checked' after a game over)?

Developer

Yep it was a level progression tracker! Thanks for playing!

I like the sprite work!  Simple yet effective.  Gameplay-wise, I like the ramp up in difficulty through both timing and number of places to check.  Couple small bugs I noticed on the web export if you feel like working on this more post-jam:

  • The progress tracking dots on the bottom of the screen stopped working after reaching the first diamond; the later diamonds would fill in after enough levels but the smaller dots between the diamonds never did
  • Resuming the game after game over had some weird behavior.  Most notably, sometimes I would get a game over after a single guess despite having 3 hearts left
Developer

Thank you for playing and for the feedback! I'll take a look at the bugs after the jam for sure, gotta keep learning!
