I loved the idea for this game! Unfortunately I have no friends, so I had to play with myself, though I had fun trying to find out different moves to win as fast as I could, though I think it could have been fun to see a singleplayer mode too.
AMAZING theme and idea and all! I had fun beating my partners ass. Maybe make it so that the mirrors spawn in different positions every game for replayability!
Like other's have said, it's nice to see a two player laser chess game.
Nice to see a multiplayer game. I would have liked to have a PVE mode. I think you might have to tweak the balance a bit. This looks good and plays good. The music is good.
Good work guys ^^
I really enjoyed this game! The mechanics of pieces made it feel a lot like chess but with a wild twist. It was interesting you could harm your own pieces as well as the opponents, it surprised us a couple times and shifted the play of the game.
Great entry! It's nice to see different things like multiplayer. I, like others initially just played against myself but that's a obviously pretty unfulfilling experience and it took a while to get an actual two player game but I finally did. I can't tell where the full meta goes, but I worry a little about being able to wall yourself in for a stale mate. Obviously a lame way to play, but that's where it feels like P2 can end up easily having to respond to P1's attacks.
Having some additional visual change for the destroyed mirror would have been good, something quick like dimming them/reduce alpha via modulate, or literally a new sprite with some glass shards would have better conveyed that mirror no longer reflects. As is, it seems more like it can't move and will just block the laser.
I really appreciated the tutorial screens, though comically took a minute to see the "next" button, I think I was expected it in the bottom right with a more obvious background.
Again, it's hard to extrapolate what it would be like playing dozens of matches but there were some fun surprises early on in how things played out. Good work, keep it up!
ahah fun idea for a two player game ! i'm a big music fan so i would love a more developped soundtrack x) anyway, congrat for that jam entry !
Nice, a 2-player game. I really like it, feels a bit like chess - laser chess :D
Really interesting idea. I didn’t get that you could move everything at first, but ended up playing a couple matches against myself. I lost…
You know, this was my very first game jam and as an artist in public. I’m glad I went through with it.
Hey, you went in the same direction as our game! I like how you've made it a 2-player game! Seems like some classic boardgame or something :)
I also played it against myself and won hahahahaha
A xPC mode would be great, but I know that do this in a week is hard. Maybe a future update? I'll try to play again later with someone as enemy, but so far so good. Congrats!
I'm glad you gave it a shot solo, and hope you do try with another player later! We do plan to keep working on this post-jam, with the goal of getting at least a vs PC mode and/or online play working, just needed to focus on the core gameplay during the jam.
Very interesting idea! Nice!
Cool idea :). I played it against myself and won :D
