Cute game! Needed a run to understand what I was supposed to do with the phase shift but after that it went smoothly.
Like Noskire said it is a little hard to lose clones if you stand still and keep shooting, I would try to address that in a future iteration.
Well done.
I think if you earned a few points for destroying the enemy projectiles it might incentivise moving a lot more in the early game (I usually found myself staying still in the early game). Other than that, a good entry with a nice art style and music.
I got 2465 :D
I ended up finding a small loophole: If you stand still and shoot non-stop, it is very hard to lose one of the clones.
Good game, simple and fun. Congrats!
Neat game! Controlling three of your clones at once is challenging but fun. There were tense moments were I was swinging my dudes around wildly to try and get a powerup while also trying to dodge. The music is perfect for this kind of game. I really like the phase shift animation/effect that happens in the background. I also really like the little detail that the three player sprites cast shadows behind them, nice touch!
I know you called it out in the description, but the powerups could be a bit more prominent. As the game progresses the colored dots around the screen also kind of make things hard to see. But those are just nitpicks, well done!
Nice game, it really gives you the vibes of the good bullet-hell games. neat controls and engaging mechanic. pretty satisfactory the feedback of doing damage. I liked as well the reference to the light spectrum. Nice entry!
Really cool vibe - audio, sound, aligning them with visuals etc.. It took me some time to figure what's going on - - initially, I though I needed to match color to avoid being hit, not to hit. But after 2-3 tries I got it. Was nice trying to get to a 1000, took me a few attempts
I really enjoyed the twist on the shooter theme! It took me a couple of tries to understand the mechanics, but once I did, I found it addictive and engaging. I got around 540 points on my best try. Is it endless?
Just as an idea, a progression system would be really cool if you plan on expanding this game. For example, the boss could have multiple HP bars, and when you knock down a complete bar, the difficulty increases.
Thanks for the comment!
> Is it endless?
Nope! A run ends after three minutes
Little bit confusing on my first run since I didn't understand what the phases were supposed to do but got the hang of it on the second run! I admit I did just blindly scroll till it made sense which it did very quickly. Is it endless?
Nope, see above. Glad to hear you could get into it!
Really liked this! Took me a couple of tries to understand what was happening but once I figured it out I found a really addictive little shooter in it. Looks really clean too.
The only critique I'd have is to maybe display your score on the game over page, and ideally celebrate a new high score, just to give it a sense of rewards.
Other than that, really solid, well done!
Pure arcade goodness! First try I didn't get the game and got frustrated, when I came to rate I saw the GIF and gave it a second go, do not regret it! But I think you could do a better tutorial next time, then again, solo project?! KUDOS M8!
I like the "flow" of this game. The game itself is very simple, yet entertaining. Though it would be nice to have some sort of goal? Or maybe a highscore, so you can see how much better you get each time :)
Neat game! I like how the player's lives are all at risk the entire time, though it does seem to me to be basically impossible to go very far without going down to one life. I also didn't realize the player can be moved using the A and D keys at first. I'm not sure how long it takes to beat the game, but I got as far as the prism taking up about half the diameter of the circle.
