A fun idea to combine being both the attacker and defender in a sort of tower defense game while trying to score as many points as possible in a smart way. I managed to get 300+ points—hopefully, that’s decent! 🙂

The controls were simple and worked well. The theme and color palette were both incorporated. A more energetic background track might have been a nice addition, as well as some kind of bonus power-ups to earn extra resources or upgrade towers and enemies. Also some info how much points each enemy is would have been handy.

But for the short duration of a game jam, this was a solid entry. Well done! 😊

I like the idea of a strategy game where you control both sides. The invaders have very cute but creepy designs, I dig it!  While the palette-swapping works fine enough, it might have been better to also give them unique faces. The weapons were a bit harder to make out. I gotta agree about making the turret bullet-based rather than timer-based. A level structure where a certain score would be needed in each level could give it a real gamey feel; at the moment, it's more like a tech demo.

Interesting concept to be sure!

Interesting idea for the theme and nice use of color palette! I think it's a bit slow-paced, but playing for both sides is fun!

Maybe you could have a limited pool of resources (without it bouncing back after some time) and indication of how much points can you get for killing every mob with each kind of turret, so you could try to get the best score for your resource amount. Hope this does make sense! =D

Great idea, and it's good that you included instructions on how to play within the game itself. Having the turrets have a limited number of shots instead of disappearing after a timer could possibly improve the game. Other than that, well done!

I like the take on a tower defense game. fits the theme well you play 2 side.

But  i feel like the turrets don't last long enough, i feel like i have to wait so long before the enemies are there and then spam click to place turrets. I think if they lasted longer or lost energy with shots it would be a bit more strategic and you could build your defenses while waiting.

and of course it would have be fun to see the actual lasers or bullet that are being shot

But generally i enjoyed the game

I like your incorporation of the theme for this jam. We both had a similar idea of a risk/reward approach. The alien guys look very cool, I like how you utilized the limited palette to differentiate each of the types of aliens. One thing I will say is that I feel like the turrets don't last long enough to be effective against large amounts of aliens, but I suppose that's probably the point. Overall, really liked the game!
