Nice game concept for the jam. Good base for something more with future updates.
I agree on the suggestions to make the bullets stand more out for the thruster.
Had fun playing!
Keep it going like this in future projects😊!
I really love the concept! I'm not one of giving long advice like the others are doing, but I do see a lot of potential in this. You shouldn't put this project aside, keep it up :)
The variety of powerups is great, especially the teleport and slowmo. The generous amount of HP you start with makes the enemies not feel like much of a threat. The large spiky enemy that fires circular patterns of bullets was well designed. An improvement I would suggest is to change the colour of the ship's thruster so that it isn't confused with the bullets, and have the enemies flash a different colour when hit as a visual indicator that they're taking damage. Great work!
Thanks for the suggestions, Means a lot!! I'll Make those improvements on my local end and update the game when jam voting end!!
I feel like the theme is not really present, at least i could not find any change of colors. but there are a lot of cool pickups.
Actually If you press [R], the realm changes (Colors Switch),some enemies hide in the dark and attack you, so the switch mechanic reveal them. It was indeed my mistake to not to introduce this mechanic at the beginning of the game. The jam deadline was reaching close, so in hurry, I added all those perks in the instructions. Take a look at them is U play again. Glad you enjoyed the game!
I did miss that indeed, ok it makes a bit more sense now. A bit my fault not to look at the how to play button but somehow i expected something in the description or when staring the game. So that is the only tip i can give make it more apparent. I updated my rating accordingly. The game feels good for the kind of game it is.
Thanks a Lot for Reviewing again! Means a lot!! I'll add the game controls in the description.
An interesting premise for sure! I'd like more customizable controls because I think it would click better with me if that were the case. The aesthetic was really simple, but got the job done. Spice up the audio factor, and we may have a real game here with all the unique powerups you added!
I sure did got messed up at the audio part, I didn't manage my time well. But yeah! it will be a real game with lots of new features, I'll be continuing to develop and update it after the jam voting ends. Thanks a lot for the Feedback!!
First off, always nice to see a fellow g develop user, second off, some of these ability combinations are really sick! My favorite is the teleport with the mines, then spam to place mines all over the screen. The game lags when there are too many on the screen at once tho. The movement took some getting used to, as I would have preferred WASD to control and Mouse to attack, though that just might be a me thing. Peak ability matching/10
Glad that you enjoyed the Game!! I wanted to make the player movement similar to that of "Just Shapes and Beats", but I knew that the usual WASD won't bring that fun which I wanted to add. Also, the movement would be to much rectilinear or blocky, which would ruin the feel of the game, so I figured why not add something new, a new kind of player movement, perhaps a new challenge to be adapted to by the gamers. And this was it. I'll be updating the game soon after jam voting end, with more new features. Again, Thanks a lot for Feedback!!!
